Hi there! My previous post was deleted. I was wondering if you could tell me what I did wrong and how I violated the content policy by creating a page explaining new readers what BuyCustomGeofilters.com is and the major publications that are connected with it.

Firstly, the page you created did not cite any references whatsoever. Secondly, these "major publications" you list here are not "connected with it", they mention it in passing while reporting on something else and do not provide enough detail to write an encyclopedia article about the company (compare WP:CORPDEPTH). Thirdly, content of the page you wrote was not in any way related to what these sources report about the company, and was blatantly promotional. Wikipedia is not free ad space. (edit conflict) Hello AndrewATX2016! Welcome to Wikipedia! I'd be happy to explain what was going on with that page.
Wikipedia is an user contributed encyclopedia – all the content here is written by volunteers, such as yourself. There are a few goals ("pillars") that we've agreed to as a community that define what Wikipedia is. They are:
  1. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia
  2. Wikipedia is written from a neutral point of view
  3. Wikipedia is free content that anyone can use, edit, and distribute
  4. Wikipedia's editors should treat each other with respect and civility
  5. Wikipedia has no firm rules
You can read more about them at WP:PILLARS. The first pillar is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. We maintain standards for what content we include based on that goal. Information must be verifiabible and notable to be included. We do not want Wikipedia to be used for advertising or to include material which cannot be independently verified via third party sources (e.g. news articles, books, etc).
The page Buycustomgeofilters.com was deleted through our "speedy deletion" process, because an editor tagged it as
  1. A page which does "not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject" – the page lacked third-party sources showing why this website is sufficiently important to include in an encyclopedia. For guidelines on what information is needed to indicate that importance for a website, check out WP:WEB.
  2. A page which "in its current form it serves only to promote or publicise an entity, person, product, or idea" – the page was not written in a neutral tone, and instead appears to promote the subject, rather than discuss it.
I did a quick review of the deletion, and it appears that the page does meet those criteria, and was correctly deleted. However, having a page deleted is no big deal! Check out Wikipedia:Your first article for helpful info about writing your first article. Let me know there is anything more I can do to help!

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Buy Custom Geofilters

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Buy Custom Geofilters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
