Hello, I'm Muhandes. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. @Muhandes: Hello. I think you reverted everything back. At least the pics and gallery edits which were using pics from Wikimedia should have stayed back. Also, there is no other reliable source for GJUST, other than its website. From where am I supposed to get the required information? Any help would be appreciated. Amrahsnihcas (talk) 08:09, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I apologize if this seems harsh, but when you make a mass edit which is mostly unsourced and copyright protected, expect it to be reverted. You are free to reintroduce images which serve to illustrate the text. Wikipedia is not a photo book, so avoid image galleries unless they illustrate the text. As for sources, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia we not really interested in what the institute says about itself. Try to find secondary reliable sources. --Muhandes (talk) 10:44, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

The material was copied directly from the school website, and thus was a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:49, 20 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Diannaa: There is no other reliable source available apart from the website itself. I don't know of any other reliable sources which don't have a copyright. What can be done in such situations ? Also there are hundreds of Indian educational institutes pages on wiki which directly reference the website itself(which has a copyright). I don't understand why the content on those pages is not removed? Otherwise this process seems very biased and akin to bullying.Amrahsnihcas (talk) 08:19, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
It's not okay to copy from copyright materials. Using them as a source is permitted, but you have to re-write the material in your own words - don't copy. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:55, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Diannaa: Okay, thanks for all the info. But still, I see a lot of content copied verbatim on lot of educational institutes wiki pages from the website itself. It's more widespread on Indian educational institutes pages. Will keep this in mind in future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amrahsnihcas (talkcontribs) 14:44, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Here are the policy on how to handle such cases and a how-to guide on the subject. I'd be happy to assist. --Muhandes (talk) 15:01, 21 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
