Local food

Hi Amortias,

I removed the content from the local food page. My only goal was to bring the article in line with the edits (printed on the web page). Right now, the web page does not read like an encyclopedia. Thank you.

Hi, the edits you made were reverted as there was no explanation for their removal. If you feel that the edits need to be carried out then that is fine but you need to ensure there is an explanation given in the edit summary box (the one beneath the editing box) before you save your edit. This will reduce the chance your edits are mistaken for vandalism (most unexplained content removal is done with negative intent). Hope that makes sense. Amortias (T)(C) 20:35, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

Bruce Nissen

Amortias, I am Bruce Nissen. I edited the "Bruce Nissen" Wikipedia page to note that I won the 2015 Marilyn J. Gittell Activist Scholar Award from the Urban Affairs Association. You removed this because you said that I didn't provide a credible source. I think that's not the type of thing you footnote or source. Certainly, my earlier awards (from UALE and FIU) are not sourced.

I do suppose that if one went to the Urban Affairs Association's webpage and looked, you could find this information as they report on their 2015 annual conference. But really, do we need to SOURCE this? It's just a fact, and I have the award right here in front of me to prove it. Certainly the UAA will not dispute this, as they put out a press release about it. Do we really need to source to press releases? I think this is getting ridiculous. Nothing else in the awards section is sourced, as I think is proper.

Hi Bruce

As the article relates to a living person there are strict policies that relate to the addition of unsourced staements. The fact that previous additions havent been picked up does not prevent new additions being removed to ensure they fall within the BLP policy. As Wikipedia is required to be a neutral and reliabley sourced we need to ensure that things like awards and accolades are kept accurate in much the same matter as we would edits that stated about criminal acts or inappropriate behaviour. Odd Thomas (novel)

Can you take another look at Odd Thomas (novel). On April 2 you reverted someone's attempt remove a large block of what appears to be a Spanish translation of the article - its a cut and paste as the references are not live, just numbers in brackets, and it is placed at the end of the article, after the normal references and nav boxes. I don't know if it was as attempt at providing text for the spanish wikipedia or just a mistake, in any case, it don't think it belongs where it is now and should be removed.
