Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Oromia, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 11:29, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I removed this on purpose do to the fact that Haile Selassie was labeled as Amhara, when he comes from a mixed lineage, my apologies. Amhara Man 06 (talk) 11:32, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Amhara people. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 12:18, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Tafari Benti has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:34, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Demeke Mekonnen, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:44, 4 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

You've already been warned to stop using misleading edit summaries such as "typo" when adding information to articles, but I see that you continue to do so. Please start to use accurate edit summaries. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:43, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dude, i'm literally providing a source!?!? What else do you want?!?? Amhara Man 06 (talk) 07:48, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Accurate edit summaries, not misleading ones. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:52, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay I will apply an edit summary with my cited source Amhara Man 06 (talk) 07:55, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Also who removed my edit on the derg page? Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:00, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mengistu Haile Mariam. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:18, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes I understand that, but most of the people who delete my edits never respond to my reply Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:20, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please give other editors a chance to reply. Just because you're online at any one time, doesn't mean that everyone is. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:24, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh, but why did you remove it now? I can cite multiple sources if you want Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:30, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Because the content has been contested, you're edit warring, and you need to get consensus to add material on the talk page per WP:BRD. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:41, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not contested but vandalized* I provided multiple sources, it shouldn't be debated on Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:58, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

On what basis are you concluding that other editors are acting in bad faith? —C.Fred (talk) 14:20, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at She'eb massacre. Your first edit after your block is restoring the edit for which you were blocked. That says it all. LandLing 12:51, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Amhara Man 06 reported by User:Cordless Larry (Result: ). Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:01, 6 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

YouTube is not considered a reliable source

edit

It is a self-published source. See WP:RSPYT. Adakiko (talk) 08:07, 6 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

It depends on who produced the content that appears on YouTube, Adakiko. YouTube itself is not a source, but a website that hosts content produced by lots of different people and organisations. Videos posted by the BBC will be considered reliable for most purposes, whereas those by someone producing videos in their bedroom, less so! Cordless Larry (talk) 08:16, 6 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule, as you did at Mengistu Haile Mariam. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 12:53, 6 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • I have blocked you, not only for violating 3RR, but for your disruptive, battleground mindset since you started editing Wikipedia a few days ago. You are edit-warring at multiple articles. You are accusing editors who disagree with you of vandalism. If this sort of behavior continues after this block expires, you may expect the next block to be indefinite.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:58, 6 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
