Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Björk - Album.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Björk - Album.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:14, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Repost of Bowel of Chiley edit

A tag has been placed on Bowel of Chiley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. SummerPhD (talk) 18:54, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Goddammit I Love America! edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Goddammit I Love America!, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Demos are not notable without substantial coverage in independent reliable sources, per WP:MUSIC.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Footnotes edit

"Footnotes" is an acceptable name for the section containing references, please see Wikipedia:LAYOUT#Notes_or_References, which means that this edit was unnecessary. --JD554 (talk) 14:38, 8 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Then it would be better if the notes section used the </references> instead of the {{Reflist}} template. That way a "group name" can be used to keep them separate from any footnotes that may get added, see WP:REFNOTE. --JD554 (talk) 08:58, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Strangeglue.com edit

These reviews and links should not be submitted on mass. It is definitely Conflict of Interest as the person who added these links is essentially using Wikipedia as pr to attain exposure. If it was an occasional well written review added by someone who is interested in anything other than strangeglue.com then that would be acceptable. Please understand I have a third party interest in some of these articles, and I also occasionally add reviews - but without any COI. Hope that helps. Riceboy Sleeps edit

You said "Well then fix the redirect instead of having that article which may be confusing for some users"[2], which is exactly what I've been trying to do. Because Riceboy Sleeps has already been redirected once to Jónsi & Alex, Riceboy Sleeps (album) cannot be moved to it even though the redirect has been changed to the album article. It needs an admin to speedily delete the redirect page so the album page can be moved there. I will then place a WP:HATNOTE at the top of the album article which will say "This article is about the album, for the artists formerly known as Riceboy Sleeps, see Jónsi & Alex." Please don't remove the delete request again otherwise we won't be able to have the primary topic in the right place. Thanks, --JD554 (talk) 06:38, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've removed the self-published source again because it is hosted on a personal website, please read WP:SPS. Also, as a jpg, the letter could have been created by any graphic editing program and then claimed to be from Sigur Ros. A source that complies with WP:RS and WP:SPS is needed. --JD554 (talk) 08:24, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:BennJordanPaleBlueDot.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:BennJordanPaleBlueDot.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 12:17, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Shining's Halmstad edit

"Niklas angående Niklas" was the working title for the album, and not the final title. musicbrainz.org, discogs.com etc are not reliable sources for this. Nymf hideliho! 17:39, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me, but MusicBrainz and Discogs (specially the former; Discogs takes titles too literally which can sometimes be wrong; now, for example it's useful: it proves (Niklas... was on the physical album) are the most reliable music databases on the web. Yes, even more than official sites, which frequently make mistakes. If Niklas angående Niklas was just the working title and not present on the album's packaging, I can assure you it wouldn't be on those sites. alvareo [speak to me] 19:20, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
See that lil' button called "edit" on both of those pages. It means that any users can change the content, and as such, just like IMDB and Wikipedia, for instance, it cannot be considered a reliable source. Feel free to tell me where it says "Niklas angående Niklas" on the album. Front, CD, Back Nymf hideliho! 20:58, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Even though there's a "lil' button called "edit"", people who are subscribed to the artist are quick to fix mistakes. Anyway, there's no mention of what you say is the working title on the packaging, so I guess you're in the right. Thank you for the scans, though; I'm going to upload them to Discogs. alvareo [speak to me] 21:28, 21 October 2010 (UTC) Could you take a picture of the CD's spine? alvareo [speak to me] 21:32, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I can't believe I forgot to say this: After people press that lil' button and modify the information, other users' votes are required. In MusicBrainz, for example, an edit requires three "yes" votes to be accepted, and if those don't happen within two weeks (or if there were no "no" votes), the edit is accepted. People who are subscribed to the artist get notified of such edits and go vote on them. As you may think, Shining wasn't one of those artists that didn't receive "no" votes (or less than three "yes" votes) and had to be accepted two weeks later. I'm not familiar with Discogs policies, but I do know they're not accepted automatically. alvareo [speak to me] 19:44, 22 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Fame Monster edit

I think you'll find that per previous discussions, here and here it was concluded that The Fame Monster is Gaga's third EP and second album. Note that EPs can be either singles or albums. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:53, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
