The heading of my article 'Vattacharja Chandan' itself was changed on 2nd june 2011 by someone, resulting a sharp drop in viewership as per page view statistics. So I want to revert to the more familiar heading which could not be done I don't know why? In order to revert please {{helpme}} Allbloom (talk) 08:49, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is very difficult to see how the change of title could possibly cause a drop in number of views, as anyone looking for Vattacharja Chandan will be automatically redirected to Chandan Kumar Bhattacharya. In any case, following Wikipedia's manual of style, teh title of an article is determined by the name most commonly recognised in English, not by considerations of what will get most views of the page. I am not sure which name is more commonly recognised: a Google search for "Chandan Kumar Bhattacharya" is contaminated by hits for other people of the same name. Including the title of one of his works in the search produces similar numbers of hits for both names. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:27, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Taking into account what James told you above—that anyone typing in the original name get's redirected to the article—please note that using the article traffic statistics tool I calculate that the article was viewed about 251 times in June 2011 (after the change), and 201 times in May 2011 (before the change).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:44, 1 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited History of Bengali literature, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Alternative and Don Webb (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
