Proposed deletion of The Cultural Creatives

The article The Cultural Creatives has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of how this book might meet notability guidelines. Lacks citations to significant coverage in reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 21:30, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

I addressed your concerns by editing the article; continued expansion is planned. All is One (talk) 18:30, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Stephens City, Virginia

Hello....I am aware you work on Pennsylvania towns, but I have a Virginia town article that needs some help. I was wondering if I could get some help digging up some references on the Demographics of Stephens City, Virginia. I have looked into the census information and it isn't lining up with what is already there (before I started editing the page). I am unsure what to do. I am working to get the article to Good Article status (and one day Featured) and that is one of the sections that needs extensive referencing. If you or someone you know in WP:CITIES could take a look and dig them up, I would be most greatful. Thanks...NeutralHomerTalk • 04:30, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello! I suggest taking a look at the references in the "Demographics" sections of the articles at Wikipedia:Featured articles#Geography and places. I would rely primarily on government sources for the section. Please post your request at: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cities as well. "Demographics" is not something that I have a lot of experience with. Good luck with your quest; I hope that the article makes GA! All is One (talk) 17:36, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your help. I did post to WP:CITIES, but didn't get a response as no one had edited the page in a couple days, so I started asking individual users. I will definitely look at the links you included and see what they linked to and go from there. I will use them as a "template" for the Stephens City page. Thanks again for you help :) Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk • 22:43, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
I believe that User:Ram-Man and User:rambot created most of the "Demographics" sections. You may be able to find more information there. All is One (talk) 15:22, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Ohio River

Thank you for looking at the Ohio River page modifications. Rem145 (talk) 18:24, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the nice message! I keep the rivers of Pittsburgh on my watchlist. You may want to consider joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Rivers since you are interested in that subject. It really is a great project! All is One (talk) 18:33, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Hoax

Thanks for the speedy on the hoax creek - I deleted it and the talk page. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 23:55, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the quick response. It is unfortunate that this was on Wikipedia for so long. Many other websites have copied the false information, but at least we got it taken care of. All is One (talk) 23:58, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for taking care of the links - I found a redirect and deleted that too. An IP started the article - I was also surprised at how long it lasted. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:15, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that IP added a lot of vandalism to several related articles. The stream stub just looked really legitimate though, so I understand why it lasted so long. Its kinda funny because you can see my edits with this evolve as I figured this out. The book, which is the only source found, is published by Icon Group International; they apparently copy works from the web including the hoax article, making it appear to be real. Thanks again for your help! Since you edit stream articles, you understand the notability issues, etc. If I come across stuff like this again, would it be okay to contact you on your talk page to get it resolved? All is One (talk) 19:36, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Of course, I am always glad to use my admin bit to help clean things up. Thanks again, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:05, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:43, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Nice job on Carnahan Run

The amount of PA river articles is growing nicely. Gjs238 (talk) 01:33, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks Gjs238! You do really nice work with the streams, redirects, and disambiguation pages. I am surprised at how many of these have notable issues. Knapp Run in Armstrong County, for instance, had a major oil spill in 1990; interesting in light of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. I would like to get some info boxes and photos added to the articles, but pictures have never really been my strong suite. Please feel free to jump in and edit to improve these stubs as I find time to create them. All is One (talk) 16:51, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation that may interest you

Thought you should be aware: The IP 86.150.169.20 (talk · contribs) you've been pestered by at the Collectivism/Individualism talk pages (amongst other places, including here) is yet another IP sockpuppet of indef-blocked YourLord (talk · contribs). I've opened a sockpuppet investigation at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/YourLord, if you'd care to voice an opinion. --IllaZilla (talk) 00:14, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the information and investigation. I posted a comment there. All is One (talk) 00:26, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

re Butler, Pennsylvania

Hi All Is One. Re this edit, what's wrong withe the external links section in this article? Herostratus (talk) 17:40, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello Herostratus. The Butler Area School District is internally linked above; it already contains the district's website. The link to rootsweb.ancestry.com may not be a reliable source or a knowledgeable source. The library and the historical society seem somewhat reasonable to me; I wanted to see what other editors thought for inclusion using external links as a guideline. All is One (talk) 18:34, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, linking to a site twice is not a problem, in my view. It's a long article, and re-including the link at the bottom where it can be easily found is OK. Similarly, we might include a piece of information twice, say in the text body and in a table (in fact this is often done with infoboxes). Nothing wrong with allowing more than one way or place to access a piece of data. As to the ancestry.com site, I don't know who they are, but I consider it extremely likely that that their page described as being the contents of an 1883 book is indeed that. It would be quite an elaborate hoax if it wasn't. Herostratus (talk)
I went ahead and removed the tag and added the city's official website. All is One (talk) 18:44, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

New Age

GA passed. Congrats and good job! /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 03:04, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for everything! The New Age article was one of the first on Wikipedia; it has greatly evolved over the years. I really learned a lot through the whole process. All is One (talk) 18:10, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Moe Pipe Organ Company

In February you PRODded this, and it was deleted. Undeletion has been requested at WP:REFUND, so per WP:DEL#Proposed deletion I have restored it, and now notify you in case you wish to consider taking it to AfD. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:24, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

I will leave this for the wider community; no comment. Thanks for the update. All is One (talk) 18:29, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Pittsburgh

Thanks for your input on the steel mills issue. I had a content dispute with Liam1694u (talk · contribs) recently in which I argued in favor of sticking to the "zero steel mills" number (due to the fact that it is correct and that the article is about Pittsburgh) and he argued that I was just "getting nitpicky". I tried to strike a compromise in the prose in the article. I actually had no idea that those mills in Harrison Township existed—I thought the sources I was finding supported the statement that the Edgar Thomson Steel Works was the last mill remaining in the area, but on closer inspection, they specify "Mon Valley" and not "Allegheny County", so that was my mistake. —Bill Price (nyb) 01:51, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

I had noticed some of the changes, but looked at it fresh yesterday. I completely agree with you; there are sub-articles to cover those details. My main concern is the POV and stability of the article. I went ahead and edited the article to mitigate some of the issues. On another note, it is sad to see the time wasted reverting and battling nonsense. Maybe a Pittsburgh wiki could be developed to fully cover subjects not considered notable on Wikipedia with controls to eliminate the vandalism for stability.
