Your submission at Articles for creation

edit

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/International Translation Contest Littera Scripta. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, or website etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> The Book of Chzz, Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat channel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

I need help connected with providing references. The article I am writing is about a translation contest and I found it necessary to create an article in English as soon as one of the working languages of the contest is English. So this article might be interesting for those who are interested in learning Russian language and who would like to try themselves in participating in a contest translating from English into Russian or vice-versa. But returning to references, as the contest I am writing about is created by Russian professors of one of Russian universites, there is the reference to the website written in Russian. And all the information about the contest is provided in Russian. So I'm wondering if it is possible to provide such a reference. Thank you! Alisavolodenko (talk) 18:15, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Most citation templates have a field for language. It is something like "language=". Put "language=Russian" into the field and it will tell people at AfC that the references are in Russian. So {{cite journal|title=Brad Pitt|date=1 April 2015|language=Russian}} looks like "Brad Pitt" (in Russian). 1 April 2015. {{cite journal}}: Cite journal requires |journal= (help). --LauraHale (talk) 21:09, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
