Working on your article
editHi there! Welcome to Wikipedia. I've placed some tags on Jeff Parrott with some specific issues that can be worked on to improve the article, most importantly with fixing how you did your references & where they're placed in the article. The page on Referencing for beginners might be useful. Also, the article could use a lead, a brief opening paragraph that says who he is & what he does. Linking things on the page to their own Wikipedia articles, like the School of the Art Institute of Chicago also is a good thing. I corrected his name in the title as well, since his last name wasn't capitalized. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on my Talk page, or seek help from other editors at the Teahouse. - I fixed a few additional errors on the page, and restored some of the curation tags. They're there to help you or other editors see what needs to be worked on, please don't remove them until the issues are addressed. I also moved some links, like the one to the artist's site and to his iTunes page, to an "External Links" section, as they don't count as references. I also removed the direct links to music for sale on iTunes, as such links aren't permitted. JamesG5 (talk) 10:56, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- I reverted a few of your changes. Please note that you're trying to add links to pages as files, and putting in broken links to files that don't exist. You're also creating new and in some cases inappropriate categories, please see Categories help for more on how to do this properly. You also tried to remove the Curation tags, but left part of the formatting & broke the page. JamesG5 (talk) 11:18, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- I am not going to restore the curation tags, but please note any other editor can add them. From your edits it appears you may need to look at the guidelines on autobiographies and conflict of interest. Please understand the tags aren't meant as an attack on you or the page's subject, nor should they, in and of themselves, be considered problems. They're intended to help make the page better. Simply removing them won't address the problems, and can bring other attention to the page. It's simply an effort to help. JamesG5 (talk) 11:32, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

- I have restored the tags on the article, which are valid and have been removed by you on several occasions without explanation. As explained above, these need to remain until the issues are addressed. Further removal will now be considered as vandalism. Please comply with editorial guidelines, or your stay here may be in danger of being truncated.
