There are a lot of band pages on Wikipedia, and while most of them are notable, it's inevitable that other articles exist that do not meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. They'll eventually be edited to fit criteria or deleted. In layman's terms - other junk exists! Ali ^(t)_(c) 02:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Rocket Dog Rescue

Hi Ali!! I was wondering: I made a article called "Rocket Dog Rescue" because I wanted to write up about it (It's an organization that takes in homeless dogs and tries to find homes for them) and there's a prod which says that it doesn't have any reliable references or sources. However, I made sure that all of the information I had was completely sourced... there is no talk page which describes what needs to be done. Request for help with "C.A." Alexander bio

Hello, your name was the one picked out of the list of Biography Project members, so here is my request for help.

First, it is not major, really.

Second, if you say, "No, sorry," no offense will be taken.

To help, please go to tke page for C. A. Alexander and read it, then please go to Talk:C. A. Alexander and read that.

As you will see after reading these pages, help is needed, as follows:

1) Renaming the article "Alexander (stage magic)" or some thing of that sort, because Claude Alexander Conlin's stage name was Alexander and his pen name was "C. Alexander" and no evidence has turned up that he used the name "C. A. Alexander."

2) Making a rediect from "Claude Alexander Conlin" to "Alexander (stage magic)" (or whatever).

3) Making a redirect from "C. Alexander" to "Alexander (stage magic)" (or whatever).

4) Making a redirect from "C. A. Alexander" to "Alexander (stage magic)" (or whatever).

5) Getting permission to use one of the many public domain posters of his face, in the same way that public domain posters for other famous stage magicians are being used at Wikipedia. One good poster can be found at the LOC shop URL that is referenced in the article itself.

6) Uploading said picture and coding it into the page.

7) Copyediting what has been written by me, please.

If you would be so kind as to help, you would have my gratitude. I am not a full-time or even part-time Wikipedian, just a person with an interest in that subject. Learning all the ins and ous of how to create, rename, and get image prmissions for Wikipdia is way beyond my ability or time-constaints.

I understand, but it would be best if the name of the album was released before an article is created for it. I still strongly suggest that you add information about the album to Nicole Richie instead, until the name of the album is released. I'm glad that you're adding information about her album to Wikipedia, but as it stands your article probably does not meet with Wikipedia's policies. In need of mentorship

Hi,

I saw your name over at WP:ADOPT.

I need the advice of an experienced Wikipedian.

I'm currently coordinating development of Wikipedia's Outline of knowledge, which has grown to around 500 pages, and I am having trouble recruiting editors to help build and improve it. I need some mentorship here.

I also need advice on the guidelines I've been writing for the Outline of Knowledge at User:The Transhumanist/Outline of knowledge. Is it good enough? Did I miss anything important?

My latest effort to recruit help on the outlines is a proposal for a contest between all of the country WikiProjects on Wikipedia (about 200 of them). Each country has an outline devoted to it, and so I figured these fall within the scope of the corresponding WikiProjects. This will be a very big event, and I'm not sure I'm going about it in the best way.

So you see, I've taken on a lot, and I need as much advice as I can get.

Hi Ali, I recently wrote an article on my father, Henri Temianka, which is now on Wikipedia. I am still trying to understand how to navigate the copyright issues around uploading a few photographs for that article. The photos are 20 to 75 years old, so attribution is difficult or impossible and I don't believe there are any commercial interests involved. Would greatly appreciate any advice, thanks!
