FC Metalurh Nikopol

Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as FC Metalurh Nikopol) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Urania3 22:37, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, there's sufficient context for it to be considered an article now. For future reference, consider using a maintenace template on the article for other editors. Urania3 02:40, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Image for Metalurh Nikopol

Do not delete it! Please. I even put the terms and conditions of the web-site where I got it along with the image.

It's not a nonsense!! I add some links on the page that prove me right in certain way. I hope that you classify everything new as the nonsense. I spend quite some time on this page. And I hope that others will help me improve it or, maybe, even you. I'm open to suggestions. Please donot delete it, just because in your opinion it is something that I made up. Aleksandr Grigoryev 01:33, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Alright! Big thanks for help and acceptance. Aleksandr Grigoryev 05:50, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi Aleksandr, I changed the copyright status tag on the Metalurh's logo since by Ukrainian law, all logos are non-copyrightable, that is a Public Domain. Thanks for your contributions and keep up the good work. --Irpen 05:19, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

OK. Thanx. Aleksandr Grigoryev 05:22, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Welcome

Hello, Aleksandr Grigoryev/Archive 1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to anounce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.

Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Wikipedia notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Wikipedia or you may just get right into editing.

Again, welcome! Alex Bakharev 07:13, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

FC Karpaty-double Lviv

A tag has been placed on FC Karpaty-double Lviv, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

I left this for a few minutes to see if it was a work in progress. If you have more context, please add it. Cheers Kevin 23:05, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Go ahead! Aleksandr Grigoryev 23:17, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:FCTitanArmyansk.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:R 05 1.jpg. The copy called Image:R 05 1.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 00:16, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Commercial use of Image:Emblema scala.gif

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Emblema scala.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Emblema scala.gif is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Emblema scala.gif itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:16, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Ukrainian soccer

Hi, Alexandr

I have seen your message on my talk but do not know what article you want me to help you with. I saw a few deleted images that you have uploaded. Wikipedia does not allow non-commercial-only images because it may prevent publishing copies on paper or on CD that need to be sold by money. Still some images that are absolutely necessary for the article may be fair use to include in wikipedia. The rules for the allowed fair use images are quite arcane and you may need help here. Otherwise most of your editing seems to be current. Please point me out to the specific problems you have and I will be happy to help Alex Bakharev 06:27, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Titan 1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Titan 1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:00, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Question

Hi! Could you explain why wasn't Dynamo Kiev affected by the 10-draws limit in 1986? TIA. Alæxis¿question? 20:28, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

At least not only Kiev benefited from this ;). If I find out the exact reason I'll let you know. Alæxis¿question? 05:11, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Ukrainians in the USSR national team

A.G., you're welcome to start an article on the topic (just make sure it is named properly), but take the time to spell your changes/links/descriptions properly when editing articles & try to follow the WP format...otherwise, it makes your edits look like 2-sec almost-vandalism-like edits that other editors see them as gibberish and don't take them seriously. --Palffy 21:23, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Time permitting, I hope you will continue with your work. Best, and happy New Year!--Riurik(discuss) 06:24, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

My reversion

For now I've restored your edits to the article. I'm not familiar with the article so I don't know for sure if your edits are appropriate or not so I'll just let other users who are familiar with the article review them and see if they should stay.--Urban Rose (talk) 05:13, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

MCS Rukh

Hi there. Just to let you know that this is not the longest construction project in the world - the Sagrada Família in Barcelona has been under construction since 1882 and they still haven't finished building it. Also saying that something is a joke in local folklore is POV unless this can be strongly referenced. -- Roleplayer (talk) 21:42, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't know the answers to your questions, except that personal experience doesn't count as a reference: if you can't find a reference for something that you know from, say, where you live, then you at risk of adding original research. -- Roleplayer (talk) 22:32, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Kanchelskis and Yuran

I see your point, but I also see Akhrik Tsveiba and Yuri Nikiforov in the list, and they also played for Russia, so I also added Kanchelskis and Yuran. Maybe we should remove all of them from the list. Chanheigeorge (talk) 04:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Okay, that makes sense then. Perhaps you can make a note for those players, and then remove Kanchelskis and Yuran. Chanheigeorge (talk) 04:59, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Please see the centralized discussion. Consensus has been reached that the Sovereign state is preferable. Therefore, I am not edit warring, but defending the consensus. Besides, there is no such thing as an author or an "owner" of a page. This is one of the Wikipedia fundamental ground settings. I don't hope you feel you own any pages in here. User:Maracana

Have a ball

  The Golden Ball of Ukraine
You are hereby bestowed the first ever Golden Ball of Ukraine in recognition of your meticulous efforts. Among these are 11 articles documenting the Ukrainian First, Second and Third Leagues from 1992 to as far as 1997, the latest Ukrainian Cup 2007-08, and a dozen of Ukrainian footballers. Thanks for your service.--Riurik(discuss) 20:09, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

WP:RS

Please check out WP:RS. To give you what should be a notorious example, you can't just go write a Wikipedia article about Microsoft Windows with sources from Microsoft. They obviously have a bias. The same goes with a sports league. I don't know what you think of the Ukraine's leagues, but I know you can't necessarily go by what American leagues say when covering them from a neutral point of view.
