Draft:Thomas Lindsay North edit

Awards/titles/ranks are conferred on individuals for all sorts of reasons, usually in recognition of public or community service. Just because North was granted a Knight Bachelor, does not automatically mean that he is notable. You need to research why he was granted that honour, and whether his contribution/exploits were actually notable. The cynic in me feels that this title was possibly politically motivated rather than for his achievements, as it is typically the Australian government who would put forward the recommendation for the British government to consider. Dan arndt (talk) 07:19, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

So "the cynic in you" is a more valuable source than the awards process. I guess that's fair enough. Thankyou for your help. Ahumph1978 (talk) 07:33, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
You clearly did not understand my earlier comment. I did not decline the draft because I believed the award was conferred as a political favour (as there is no factual evidence that was the case). I declined it because i felt it failed to satisfy the requirements of WP:ANYBIO. If your arguement is that because he was awarded a Knight Bachelor he must be notable then I respectfully disagree.
