Your input is requested

Greetings, After Midnight/Archive 21! If we have not met, I'm AutomaticStrikeout. I've come here to ask you to take part in the survey at User:AutomaticStrikeout/Are admins interested in a RfB?. I am trying to gauge the general level of interest that administrators have in running for cratship, as well as pinpoint the factors that affect that interest level. Your input will be appreciated. Happy editing, AutomaticStrikeout (TCSign AAPT) 01:39, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Undelete the inbred actress/actor article! Schnell!

Fricken jerk, I wanted to read that! In the immortal words of a great man: "How dare you? HOW DARE YOU!?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1010:B107:CA64:7400:EA67:D785:AE11 (talk) 06:29, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

List of Total Drama: All-Stars episodes

Please do not resort my tables. The television show is based from Canada so the air dates from the original Canadian channel are supposed to be listed first, while the secondary air dates, in this case the U.S., are alternate air dates so they get listed second. Giggett (talk) 23:49, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

  • OK, #1 It is not "your" table per WP:OWN #2 If it airs in the US first and Canada 2nd, how can the Canada date be the original? Note that an original showing is the first airing of a show. --After Midnight 0001 01:03, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Okay then, well does that mean that I gotta resort the Season 3 episode table also since the U.S. aired the episodes first? Even though Canada aired Episode 1 first, the U.S. aired Episodes 2 to 26 long before Canada, so which one is considered original? Giggett (talk) 11:05, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
  • Note that for All-Stars I did not title one of the columns "original". I know that the template uses the field name "original", but that is behind the scenes. The column headers that I used just show US and Canada, so no one really sees the word original and they just see the date that it shows in each country. For World Tour, I would not recommend to re-sort the table, especially since the 1st episode premiered in Canada before the US and then the other episodes were the opposite. I would personally just recommend to change the header of the column in that season from "Original" to "Canada". One other option that you might want to consider would be to do it the way that 666 Park Avenue was done, where there is only one column with multiple dates in the field. I am sure there are other options as well; my only real issue would be to say something is original or first when it is not chronologically so. --After Midnight 0001 11:44, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey After Midnight

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

RE: 2012-13 vs 2013-14

This is not about what's convenient to me. Where does it say this draft is the kick off for the 2013-14 season? It may be, don't get me wrong, but I haven't seen that stated explicitly. In fact I've seen the opposite (http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/page/calendar2013/2012-13-nhl-calendar). On top of that, having two June sections isn't a huge issue, but it does look worse and adds confusion. The way the NHL is structured, with regards to players (whether its contracts, transactions, buy-outs, salaries, years experience, etc.) is by the turn-over of SPCs on the scheduled date of July 1 (July 5 this year due to obvious complications to the schedule). To focus our transactions pages on the cessation of a player's contract vs the commencement of new player contracts is a reasonable structure.Uncleben85 (talk) 20:23, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1994 Major League Baseball Draft, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paul Wilson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Free agent signings

Just wanted to let you know that we never really used dates for free agents. I think it makes it look to cluttered and squashed down for people (like myself) who still use the square style monitors. Plus to kinda try to match the format from the other teams season pages it might not be a good idea to have it. Just my $0.02 -B2Project(Talk) 01:58, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

The reason I added it was because I kept wondering to myself "What date did that happen?", so I just added it to the tables. Would it be more pleasing if the column sizes were tweaked? If you want to give me your screen dimensions, I can try to play with it a bit. Also, perhaps, the 2 tables could be placed under the other instead of side-by-side, which would allow the columns to be larger and more readable? Do you know if anyone ever tried adding it to the other team pages? I certainly don't want to go against a strong consensus, but I like to propose new ideas from time to time if they might be useful to others. --After Midnight 0001 02:33, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
  • There is a project that you would have to try to bring up proposed changes to the current "format". I've tried multiple times in the past and they always refer me to use an article that gained good article status as a template like this one so that's what I'm guided to sticking to. -B2Project(Talk) 03:00, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
I should hope that no one would have a problem with my change, but I have posted a question there to initiate discussion. --After Midnight 0001 03:12, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
  • I don't see an issue with it, the majority of my edits I do is at work with a older monitor so that's why I gauge it that way but at home I have a widescreen monitor. How about this example:
Free agents
Player Acquired from Lost to Date Contract terms
Riley Holzapfel HV71 July 4, 2013 2 year
Rob Scuderi Los Angeles Kings July 5, 2013 4 year/$13.5 million
Andrew Ebbett Vancouver Canucks July 5, 2013 1 year/$550,000
Chris Conner Phoenix Coyotes July 5, 2013 1 year/$550,000
Nick Drazenovic Columbus Blue Jackets July 5, 2013 1 year/$550,000
Matt Cooke Minnesota Wild July 5, 2013 3 year/$7.5 million
Jarome Iginla Boston Bruins July 5, 2013 1 year/$6 million
Waivers
Player Claimed from Lost to Date

Undeletion request

I would like to request that you undelete File:Microsoft Internet Mail and News screenshot.png, which you previously deleted due to not having a fair use rationale. I can provide such a rationale for the article Microsoft Internet Mail and News, which does not currently have a screenshot of the program. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 21:52, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

Done. I have set the fair use tag out for 1 week. --After Midnight 0001 00:20, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Articles for Deletion: Adams Crossroads, Delaware

In view of your longstanding activity and knowledge on Wikipedia and that you live in Delaware, it would be appreciated if you could find a moment to check in on Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Adams_Crossroads,_Delaware and weigh in with your opinion, no matter which side that may be for.Superman7515 (talk) 00:12, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Undeletion request

I would like to request that you undelete Richard Alvin, which you previously deleted as not being noteworthy. The person in question has gone on to found a private equity company in the UK making investments of nearly £2M http://auderecapital.co.uk and invest in and join the board of Cake Communications http://www.prweek.com/uk/news/1194223/Cardiff-agency-targets-London-clients-selling-minority-stake/ He is also a local councillor too http://www.britnett-carver2.co.uk/chigwellpc/grangehill.html so think that he would be a worthy addition to Wikipedia — Preceding unsigned comment added by Labatsky66 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

I have restored the article per your request in the state that it was in before it was proposed for deletion. --After Midnight 0001 16:22, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Request for information on an image you deleted

Hello After Midnight! I've been doing some research on The Bermuda Depths and notice that there is no image on that article. I did some digging and found File:Thebermudadepths.jpg was there at one time and was deleted by you on July 18, 2007 with a deletion rationale of: (Speedy deleted per (CSD i6), was an image with fair use tag but no fair use rationale for more than seven days. using TW) and I was wondering if you would be willing to take a peek at that image for me and tell me what it is an image of? Is it a screenshot of the title screen of the movie (black screen with the title in white letters), a picture of a disc or packaging for the movie, or some other publicity poster or screenshot from the movie itself? Thanks for this information. Depending on what the content is, I may request an undelete and offer a fair-use rationale at that time. Thanks again! Technical 13 (talk) 18:11, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

It looks like it is probably a poster or a DVD cover. --After Midnight 0001 00:20, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 01:40, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
