Wikipedia's position on British vs. American spelling edit

Since you asked... Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English --Lukobe 16:58, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

[1] - if you have any further trouble with this (ie. if you still can't edit), repost {{unblock-auto}}.

Request handled by: Daniel.Bryant 04:22, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've contacted Dmcdevit (the blocker); this appears to be a rangeblock (given there's no block log entry for 68.30.153.58, and it's not an autoblock), probably made from results of a checkuser. Just reminding all administrators to read and remember {{checkuserblock}} when dealing with this. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant 03:27, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am connecting via my blackberry modem, whose IPs all seem to be blocked (not sure if they are Sprints or RIMMs). Although, it doesn't really make sense to me since I'm logging in with my account which is quite old at this point. Aepryus 14:04, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unblock request edit

Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied, we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details, there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
If you are able to edit the sandbox, you are not blocked from editing. Either the autoblock on your IP address has already expired, or you weren't blocked in the first place. Either way, you can resume editing.
  3. If you are still blocked, follow the directions below:
    1. Copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "Unblock request" section.
    2. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page, and click save.
If you cannot edit your own talk page, use the Unblock Ticket Request System to make your request.

Walther P22 disputes continues edit

Hello. The discussion of whether to include a mention of the Virginia Tech massacre at the Walther P22 article continues. Earlier, a compromise was reached to include a mention of the Viriginia Tech massacre in a "See Also" section of this article, but now that idea is being debated. Care to weigh in? The Walther P22 is being discussed here. Griot 16:34, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Coins problem at RD/S edit

Hi Aepryus. Since you asked for more clarification, I added another post about the coins problem to the archived RD page. --mglg(talk) 16:46, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Meanwhile, I've been discussing numerical solutions on mglg's talk page; there's Mathematica code there for a numerical solver (for the duration that the coins are in contact) if you're interested. If you can't run that and don't want to just transcode it into your own animator, I can provide a GIF of the (first bit of) motion. --Tardis 22:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:BMW Welt Side.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:BMW Welt Side.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 00:02, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: IP vanalising football articles edit

I blocked him again. See User talk:70.88.142.249. If he returns when this block expires, just let me know and we can try this again. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 17:28, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wright brothers FAR edit

Hi Aepryus! You recently nominated the article Wright brothers for featured article review. This forum is for the review of articles which already have featured status, and not for awarding featured status. For that, you need to go to the featured article candidacy page. However, although the Wright brothers article is a nice article (and has already been awarded good article status), it is probably not ready for FAC at this point. There are large portions of the article that are unreferenced, which will be a major issue in any review, as well as more minor issues such as improperly formatted references and missing alt text. If you would like to take the article to FA, I would sugges working on the referencing and then taking the article through peer review, having several people who specialize in prose, references and MOS look over the article, and then nominator for FAC. This process will make your trip through FAC much easier, and the candidacy will be much less likely to be archived as unsuccessful. In the meantime, I have removed the listing from the FAR page and nominated the review page for a speedy deletion on technical grounds. Please let me know if you have any questions. Mary I of England edit

I just wanted to send you a note to say that someone reverted your edit to Mary I of England. I looked it over and they are correct. Lady Jane Grey's page says she is the great-granddaughter of Henry VII which would make the statement on Mary I of England correct when they say she was the granddaughter of Henry VIII. Just thought I'd let you know. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  — 16:57, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation edit

Your upload of File:BMW Welt Close.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Proposed deletion of File:Daguerre jemayall 1848.gif edit

The file File:Daguerre jemayall 1848.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Superseded by c:File:Daguerre jemayall 1848.png

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 01:14, 3 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
