Speedy deletion of Conservatory blinds

edit

A tag has been placed on Conservatory blinds requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ... discospinster talk 15:36, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Conservatory blinds 4 less

edit

A tag has been placed on Conservatory blinds 4 less, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Conservatory blinds 4 less and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. GeneralAtrocity (talk) 16:45, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The page has been created to inform people of the different types of conservatory blinds and make them aware of the different techniques for building blinds. I do not see any reason why the article should be deleted as it's quite informative and makes people aware of different types of blinds.

Please place the {{hangon}} tag on the page that you do not want to have deleted. Don't place it here. Stifle (talk) 18:15, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. Acroterion (talk) 17:47, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

  This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you add inappropriate external links, as you did with this edit to Diamond engagement rings. Alansohn (talk) 13:44, 18 March 2009 (UTC) {{hangon}} I am not looking for promoting my website on wikipedia. As I was the author for the web-page, I guess the credibility for the page should be passed over to my website. I understand that I was wrong in making 'Diamond engagement ring' keyword link back to my website. But I corrected that and replaced it with my company name. Also as wikipedia use 'no-follow' tag when linking to external sites, it does not help my site in improving search results as stated by Matt Cutts earlier last week.Reply

I don't understand this, as 'Yankee Candle Company' have a page on wikipedia talking about their company and promoting their company, why are all of my articles getting removed when they are clearly providing genuine information to wikipedia including 'Conservatory Blinds'.

If I cannot take credit for my work, why should other people be getting the credit for doing so. {{hangon}} Why has my article been redirected, when after my last warning, I have not made any changes to the article. I have spent quite a bit of time writing the article and cannot have all the work deleted for no apparent reason, just because I made a point.

FYI conflict of interest guideline

edit

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. — Athaenara 16:10, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I guess after the last caution from one of the editors, I did not make any changes to the article. I cannot still understand why my article has been redirected, when there was no issue with the article. I do not have intetntion of spamming wikipedia, which has overs the years been an authority on subjects. Your assistance would be much appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrac123 (talkcontribs)

Please don't use the hangon tag here. It goes on the article that you think should not be deleted. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 16:19, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The concerned page is currently re-directed to some other related page. Don't know how to overcome this

I have removed the hangon tags from this page. The original submission for the now-redirected Conservatory blinds was clear spam, and the redirect is appropriate. Do not use Wikipedia for promotion. Also, please do not insert commentary into articles, as you did at Engagement ring, and the spam link was wholly inappropriate. Acroterion (talk) 16:55, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the update. I agree that 'Conservatory Blinds' article was a bit promotional. I have aksed our copywriters to write generic information on that as we fell we do something different from the market and should make people aware of that. As for 'Diamond Enagagement Rings', after my last warning, I did not make any changes to the article, yet the article was removed without any warning. The article is clealry not promotional, but is really informative for people choosing to buy diamond engagement rings. I don't want to spam this page, and do not wish to post comments one after another as it's a waste of my time. Can you give a clear answer if my 'Diamond Engagement Rings' page can still be made live or not? if not why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adrac123 (talkcontribs)

Please do not use the hangon tag on your talk page (here}. Also, please get in the habit of signing your talk page messages with ~~~~ at the end. If you do not understand, please ask. Thanks. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:28, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
The Diamond engagement ring appears to be an unnecessary content fork of Engagement ring, created primarily as a place to put a spam link. The Conservatory blinds article was much more than "a bit promotional." Wikipedia is not the place to alert the public to your company's products. Your reference to the use of copywriters indicates that you have a significant conflict of interest in this matter, and wish to use Wikipedia for promotion. Once again, Wikipedia is not to be used for promotion of any kind. Any further activity of this kind will result in a permanent block. You are welcome to contribute in areas in which you have no conflict of interest, but advertising, overt or otherwise, is unwelcome. Be aware that spam links may be added to our blacklist, which will result in automatic blocking of any further additions of those links. Acroterion (talk) 20:05, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
