A tag has been placed on Application of Parvaresh Vardy Codes: Guruswami-Umans-Vadhan Expander Construction requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copyright edit

Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from other sites without a formal copyright release - see Wikipedia:Copy-paste and for more detail Wikipedia:Copyrights#Contributors' rights and obligations. Assertion of permission to use is not enough. If you own the copyright, the way to make a release is explained at WP:Donating copyrighted materials. You should understand that the terms of Wikipedia's CC-BY-SA license mean that publication here permits any reader to copy, modify and re-use the material for any purpose including commercial.

If you are interest in editing on mathematical subjects, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics where you may be able to find help and advice.

The reason that just saying you are the author is not enough is that copyright has important legal consequences for Wikipedia. What we can see is that this material has been published before, and we have no way to be sure that someone on the end of a wire is who he says or has the authority he claims.
If you are editing as part of a class project, please ask your instructor to read Wikipedia:School and university projects, where he will find advice and useful contacts, and to register his project there. You might also ask him to explain the copyright issue to the other students so that they do not have problems. JohnCD (talk) 20:41, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi... I'm not sure which is the link that you have found which brings all the copyright issues. If it is: https://wiki.cse.buffalo.edu/cse545/content/application-parvaresh-vardy-codes-guruswami-umans-vadhan-expander-construction then I am the author of this and we have made an in house wiki article that we are supposed to upload it on wiki by tonight. So how and where do I write that I am the author here and there as well.

This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Response to your question above edit

You asked "So how and where do I write that I am the author here and there as well."

The information is at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, specifically the section "Granting us permission to copy material already online. Until you have completed these steps, however, do not re-create the page, as we take copyright very seriously at Wikipedia. Thank you, and let me know if you have any more questions. -RunningOnBrains(talk) 07:00, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
