February 2014 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to Coba has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Coba edit

Hi, thanks for getting in touch RE: your edit to Coba. I reverted the edit for a couple of reasons. It stood out primarily because it appeared in the "Site layout and description" section (and at the top, no less), but did not add any content on that topic. To be included in the main body of an article I would expect the video to be discussed more thoroughly in the text in the context of the site layout. Without this context, the link would be more appropriate for the links section. Note that there is already a link to photos of the site (which themselves are interesting to somebody looking for places to travel!) in that section. I was also concerned that the link had the feel of a promotional video (for the personal trainer referenced). While this may not be the case, it would be better for the article if this did not appear to be the case :-). The page Wikipedia:Video links has some discussion on the use of video links on Wikipedia if you're interested. Hope I don't discourage you from editing!   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Coba with this edit. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. SeaphotoTalk 23:33, 1 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, RE: your second message, it wasn't me that removed your last edit, that was removed by User:Seaphoto who signed the paragraph above. I advise caution as there are clearly several people who are concerned by the link's presence on the page: If you re-add it there's a good chance others still will see it and you could end up with a ban for posting what looks like spam. I also note that didn't address my concerns by providing relevant text to accompany the link, or moving it to the links section Playclever (talk) 00:06, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Coba. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
Your edit here to Coba was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s56F56zg15g) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 00:07, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 00:09, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, as you did with this edit to Coba. Mark Arsten (talk) 00:23, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
