The artist was Arthur Hacker RA, 1858-1919. This portrait now hangs in the Great Hall at Bedford School. It was the smaller of two versions painted by the artist, and was originally the property of Mrs Marion Phillpotts. The larger portrait which hung in the school was destroyed by fire some years ago, and this smaller one was then donated to the school by the Phillpotts family. Request reason:

On further reflection, it seems to me that the only reason my account might seem to be linked with that of anybody else is that both accounts have used the same computer. In that case the explanation is simple: the computer in question was a shared one. I am a pensioner and I do not have any internet connection at home; my internet work is normally done at my local public library using one of a number of free public computers. Clearly it is possible that such computers may sometimes be used by other Wikipedia correspondents. A comparison of the styles and subjects of the contributions made by myself and any such third parties should make it obvious that there is no actual connection between myself and them. I respectfully suggest that the administrator should carry out a more thorough check than appears to have been done so far.

This sounds like a reasonable explanation, and it correlates perfectly what I see in the real world; as I once remarked on my talk page. I don't know about your public library computers, but mine only allows a session for about two hours (unless you take your own laptop in and use wifi), and I suspect most are the same. Therefore, one would expect many different people to be using the same IP over the course of a single day. Acrestreet's reply to Bbb23 @Bbb23: : I have mainly used the computers at Stroud Library (under Gloucestershire County Council). In the past I also used the computers at Nailsworth Library (also under G.C.C.). In addition I have occasionally used computers at the homes of friends, while visiting them. At this moment I am using a friend's computer in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, where I am currently on a visit.
