Yank Barry

edit

Please join the conversation at Talk:Yank Barry. We have been trying to establish a neutral article for this individual, which includes both negative and positive information about him, and your unilateral removal of sourced material and reinsertion of trivia without discussion is disruptive. In addition, if you have a real-life connection with the article subject or any of his organizations, you should not be editing the article directly (or at least not making controversial changes). If you continue to make changes without discussing with other editors, I'm afraid I'll have to ask for assistance from uninvolved administrators. -- Atama 19:15, 11 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Yank Barry shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
You have already exceeded 3 edits in a 24-hour period. -- Atama 18:22, 14 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Yank Barry, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 19:18, 15 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Tiptoety. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of an article. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for persistent disruptive editing, as you did at Yank Barry. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Tiptoety talk 00:42, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I'm don't understand why I have been blocked. I have tried to tilt what seems like a overly negative biased slant on the page to a neutral position. My most recent edit was to follow what I have seen on other notable personality pages who have had a run in with the law. From what I saw, the pages have settled on a consensus to not make the legal convictions a lead on their page, especially if that is not the key event that defines their live. Please help me understand what I have done wrong. I notice the many other editors who simply revert my edits without much explanation Accurateinfo973 (talk) 12:10, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You have edit warred, which on its own is sufficient to justify the block. There is room for debate about how much weight to give different aspects of the story, and what constitutes unbiased reporting, and at present I have no wish to make any judgement as to whether you are acting neutrally, or whether, as others have suggested, you have a conflict of interest and are editing with the purpose of promotion. However, no matter how convinced you may be that your view is right, trying to force your view through by repeating the same edits is not acceptable. You are free to debate the issues and to try to get consensus for your view, but when consensus is clearly against you, you need to accept the fact. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for editing against consensus, likely COI, plugging of one subject, etc, as you did at Yank Barry. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Drmies (talk) 19:11, 8 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Yank Barry

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Yank Barry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. R3ap3R (talk) 20:09, 7 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
