June 2018 edit

Hello, I'm Bonadea. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Bang Bang! seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 06:13, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Bang Bang!. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 06:22, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Some more explanation of why the text you restored in this edit is not really appropriate for Wikipedia:

  • It contains many phrases such as "a very good first day", "a decent day", and so on. That is not neutral - Wikipedia doesn't make such value judgments.
  • It contains a lot (a LOT) of minor irrelevant detail about the film's earnings for almost every day, and things like "seventh highest first week collections ever" - we can find an endless number of statistics for every single film released, and it's just not encyclopedic information. (See this information.)
  • It contains original research and speculation, such as guesses about whether the holiday week should have affected the earnings more. That's very inappropriate in a Wikipedia article.

Four years after the film's release, how much it earned for each day of the first weeks, or even during the first weeks in total, is not relevant information (if it had been the highest grosser ever it woulkd have been different, but even them all the detail would have been superfluous). I hope this makes sense. --bonadea contributions talk 08:29, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
