Question from SDIL1 on Draft:San Diego International Law Journal (18:25, 7 March 2024)

Hello there. How do I get the table to appear to the right in mobile view? Thank you?

I made the table to appear similar to the infobox journal template, but the mobile view is problematic.

Is there a way to incorporate the table inside a template so that the page displays similarly to other Law Journal pages using the same template?

I don’t want to use the infobox journal template because there are parameters missing for info that I need to display like “Volume” and “Faculty Advisor.” That’s why I made a table instead. However, it’s causing the mobile page to appear differently than with the template.

Any ideas? Thank you. --SDIL1 (talk) 18:25, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

@SDIL1. I'm unsure. What table are you talking about? {{Infobox journal}} is a standard infobox that is used on articles about journals. ─ Aafī (talk) 05:39, 9 March 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving article quality in March! - I uploaded Madeira vacation pics (from back home, at least the first day) and remember Aribert Reimann. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:04, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

Question from Bhlarg (10:03, 29 March 2024)

Should I spend money to achieve a completely accurate representation of an edit? Recently got a medium level edit of Spacelords (Raiders of the lost planet) that would require an almost entire rebuild including general gameplay and full understanding of what it was/is, despite it being free its described as a demo in some steam reviews, and having tried to experience it in the past to the same conclusion. --Bhlarg (talk) 10:03, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

@Bhlarg: Do you mean someone asked you money for making an edit on Wikipedia? Paid-editing on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited. One needs to follow certain principles of editing such as having reliable sources that backup the information, writing information in a neutral tone, when contributing to Wikipedia. Best regards, ─ Aafī (talk) 13:59, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

That's not exactly the case in terms of Spacelords. I am not being paid or was said to be paid for an edit to their Wikipedia page. The main question asked was that would it be responsible to pay for access to all currently available content within the game as to make a full rework of the page itself, considering its more of a "Pay to win" system. I have recently decided it might have been worth the trouble considering their more recent works under Nintendo, specifically "Metroid: Dread" that they are still an active studio and aren't using Spacelords as a way to keep money flowing. Despite this distrusting attitude, it seemed like a genuinely interesting rebuild that would have been a fun side project. Unfortunately, time was not exactly on my side on whether or not to decide or even write this reply. Thanks for your consideration, but in the end I think I will keep my wallet. --Bhlarg (talk) 3:57, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Aafi,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Help Muslim World Article

Member Manticore repeatedly deleted sentences about Islam growth which was based on Pew Research. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.140.166.67 (talk) 18:08, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

Please help improve Muslim World Article. Member Manticore repeatedly deleted sentences about Islam growth according to Pew Research.

In 1900 Muslims only numbered 200 million followers or 12% of the world population. This percentage drastically increased over the last 100 years due to higher birth rate in Muslim majority countries.[1][2] Pew Research have estimated the number will be around 2.2 billion in 2030 and 2.8 billion, or 30 percent of world population, in 2050.[3][4]

In Muslim world article user Manticore had deleted this sentences with different reason. First he claimed it was out of topic, poor written (it could targetted non English contributors), and wikipedia not a Crystal Glass (but in Religion Growth Population had cited Pew Research estimated).

I'd really apprecite if you don't post messages at the top of my user talk page. There is a big note stating that post new messages at bottom. I am also unsure which article you are talking about. It would be good if you can share the link if you want to get my feedback. However, I really don't improve articles on request. I have my own life and interests. Best regards, ─ Aafī (talk) 16:00, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Question from MJ Nicholson on John Learmont (15:22, 12 April 2024)

I am disappointed that no mention has been made of General John’s contribution to the successful ‘handover operation’ of Rhodesia. As the Brigade Commander he played a pivotal role in the operation. Also there’s no mention of his parents - was his father Colonel Learmont who received military evacuees from Op Haddock in Gibraltar in July 1940? --MJ Nicholson (talk) 15:22, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi @MJ Nicholson. Welcome to Wikipedia, an open encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Articles are contributed to by people like you on Wikipedia. Wikipedia contributes edit on the encyclopedia voluntarily and contribute to their topics of interest on their own will and according to what they find in reliable sources to which they have access. If you have reliable resources that mention information about John Learmont, please feel free to include that information in your own words in the given article. Take a look at WP:NPOV and WP:CITE when you try adding the information. ─ Aafī (talk) 19:22, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
