Welcome!

Hello, AIM Official, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Asian Institute of Management, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Good day, reviewers.

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to appeal for my blocked account. I sincerely apologize for violating Wikipedia by updating the information of the Asian Institute of Management, particularly the Talk section by removing Controversies and addition of new articles. Rest assured that in the event that my access will be reinstated, I will no longer do edits in the Talk section. I would just like to express my clear intention to update the information about the Asian Institute of Management page, and populate it with relevant information. I hope my request will be granted.

Thank you for your time. AIM Official (talk) 05:48, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username would be fine. However, you won't be unblocked to edit about your company in continued violation of WP:COI and WP:PAID, at least in the short term. We will first want to see a history of edits in other areas unrelated to your company as a demonstration of your understanding of relevant Wikipedia policies before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your company. Our experience is usually that allowing COI editors to dive right in to contributing about their company is a waste of time for everyone(including the editor) without some evidence that the user understands relevant polices. Articles contain all properly sourced content about a topic- good or bad. Talk pages are for discussion related to the article. Talk pages should not be whitewashed or otherwise blanked.(they can be archived). If you are interested in being a more general contributor and editing about topics unrelated to your company, please tell what you will edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:27, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:BOSS and, if you've been asked to be here or are otherwise editing as part of your job, please have your superiors read it too. 331dot (talk) 07:28, 28 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
