Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "ShinGalleryNYC", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. AnupMehra 17:31, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Now that this page exists, the normal conflict-of-interests editing rules apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Editors having a conflict of interest are very limited in the edits they are allowed to make directly to an article that they have a conflict of interest in. You may make edits to remove material that violates Wikipedia policy (in particular, the copyright and biographies of living persons policies). You may make fix typographical errors and make other "non-controversial" edits that do not change the content of the article in any significant way. All other edits should be suggested on the article's talk page and actually made by an editor who has no conflict of interest regarding this person. Your conflict of interest exist for as long as your role as an employee of an institution which does business with this person or as long as your role as an employee would cause others to question your impartiality when editing this article. In other words, when this person no longer has any business with your employer, or when you change employers, your conflict of interests is over (unless, of course, some other reason arises that causes you to continue to have a conflict of interest). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:14, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Images uploaded to the commons

edit

Please hop over to the Wikimedia Commons and read the note at the bottom of your talk page. It concerns some required legal paperwork that must be filled out to prevent the images that you uploaded from being deleted for copyright reasons.

Note that your username on the Commons has NOT changed. Until your usernames are changed so they match, please log out of the English Wikipedia before logging into the Commons and vice-versa. If you wish to change your Commons username, log out of the English Wikipedia, log into the Commons, and go to commons:Commons:Changing username and request a name-change. Once it is made, go to meta:Help:Unified_login#How_to_unify_your_accounts and read the instructions on how to "merge" the accounts. Basically, once the account names, passwords, and email addresses are identical, all you have to do is click on the link that's in that section and the accounts become merged. Once that is done, you do not have to log out of one project to log into another. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:40, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
