Postnominals

Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography#Post-nominals and Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Biography/2023 archive#Proposal: Moving post-nominals from lead sentences to article bodies.   Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. LucasR muteacc (talk) 18:50, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for contributing to the article Ralph Edwards (Royal Navy officer). However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). If you need further help, you can look at Help:Menu/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse, or just ask me. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 00:07, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at J. R. M. Butler, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Hello
Thank you for your message and I greatly appreciate it and any help that you can assist with in the future as I am not very good at all technical side of things but using [[]] is extreamly common over Wikipedia.
I must also note that is is vitally importet to ensure that people who have recieved an honour in the United Kindom are recorded properly. The United Kingom has the most highly regarded honours system in the world.
The gentleman I edited was a Member of the Royal Victorian Order and it was placed after his name which is the proper way of doing things. I had found this out directly from the 1958 New Year Honours which is references with the New Year honours list issued in the London Gazette.
Kind regards 89.242.35.32 (talk) 20:49, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
