It's been almost two months since I've written my inquiry about publishing the article without a photograph pending the subject's upcoming new photograph (please see the entries at the bottom of this page for details, "Your Query at Commons: Upload Help"). Could somebody PLEASE respond with an answer one way or another? I'm sure everyone is busy but I'm starting to feel as if I'm being deliberately ignored. Thank you. 81belle (talk) 14:10, 19 January 2015 (UTC)81belleReply

Thanks for uploading File:Katherine Boynton, Actress.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Katherine Boynton, Actress.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Katherine Boynton, Actress.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Katherine Boynton, Actress.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Katherine Boynton, Actress.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:43, 23 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your query at Commons:Upload help

edit

Hello 81belle,

just in case you didn't notice: I've left you an answer at your query at Commons:Upload help. Hope that helps, --El Grafo (talk) 17:10, 27 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've just been informed that there is some delay regardeing the photograph inclusion into this article. While this is being atgtended to, can the article be reviewed for acceptance WITHOUT the picture? Once everything is sorted out, then can it be included later?~~

11/26/2014: I've been informed that Ms. Boynton holds the copyright to her images and is currently acquiring a new professional head shot which she has graciously offered for use in this article I'm writing about her. Can this article please be reviewed and (hopefully at long last) approved "as is" without an image and then she will send in a file of her new photograph with all appropriate copyright permissions at a later date as an update to this article?81belle (talk) 14:22, 26 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

04/17/2015: I have been told Katherine Boynton has sent a current image for the article I've written as well as her statement that she holds the copyright to this image. She has sent it to the area which oversees image licenses and such. I hope that this now resolves the problems that have prevented my article from being approved and that it will soon be uploaded to the Wikipedia site. 81belle (talk) 03:12, 18 April 2015 (UTC)81BelleReply
