Hello, I'm 4thfile4thrank. I noticed that you recently removed content from Rifle Range, Penang without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 4thfile4thrank {talk} :? 13:04, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Manjung District, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Littlecat456💬(.log) 13:14, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Non-Malay language edit

Please note that Wikipedia is not governed by Malaysia, and whether a language is the official language is of no relevance to Wikipedia. Another language may be used depends on the people living there per WP:PLACE. Please don't remove information just because you want to force a language on Wikipedia, which you shouldn't do. Hzh (talk) 01:18, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

So I can't put Jawi script which is CONSTITUTIONALLY RECOGNIZED under my country's constitution and law is wrong? Then why didn't UAE and Qatari places put Tagalog, Hindi or other languages despite having large Filipino and Indian community there? Chinese and Tamil are not indigenous and has no status in my country other than a spoken language with several advantages in the education sector. Malaysia's official and only language is MALAY only.

You can add Jawi if you want, but you should not remove other languages without good reasons, for example, if there are only a small number of people speaking those languages there. That Malay is the official language does not mean that you can remove other languages. Wikipedia has its own rules. As long as a good proportion of people there speak that language, then that language can be used. Indians and Filipinos in Qatar or UAE are mostly not citizens, whereas Chinese and Indians in Malaysia mostly are. Hzh (talk) 01:39, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Malaysia is not Taiwan or China, and the Chinese and Indians can understand and speak Malay so there's no need for such transliteration unless those place names are of Tamil and Chinese origin. If the place names are of Malay origin therefore only Malay should be used along with Jawi transliteration. Malaysia has its own identity and language, these editors are not respecting the language of the nation and its either me or everyone else will do it. Respect the constitution, respect the language, they know it we know it!

The constitution of Malaysia is irrelevant to Wikipedia, only the rules and guidelines of Wikipedia is relevant here. The origin of name has little relevance to whether a language is used or not (it is only relevant when you want to talk about the etymology of the place name), and it is not to job of Wikipedia to tell the citizens of other countries how to behave. If you want to edit articles in Wikipedia, then follow Wikipedia's rules and guidelines, and not trying to enforce something that has no relevance here. Hzh (talk) 02:03, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

If MALAY is the country's only official and national language, then what I am doing IS following Wikipedia guidelines.

Then provide a link to a Wikipedia's rule or guideline that says only official and national language can be used. I don't think you can. Also note that Wikipedia is not a place for you to right great wrongs however you think you are justified. If it is not in the rules and guidelines of Wikipedia, then you shouldn't try to force your view on articles here. Hzh (talk) 02:15, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
