Citations on Monkey lemur

edit

Wikipedia markup allows for adding citations next to the cited text. See wp:cite. If you go to Monkey lemur (or any page), click edit, then place the caret (cursor) next to the text to be cited (after punctuation, if any). At the top of the edit box, you should see a pull-down-box labeled "Templates". Click on what type of source you are citing and add as much info as you have and click OK. This will generate something like <ref>{{cite web |url= https://..... }}</ref> When you save the edit, the ref/ref will be replaced with a citation link:[42] which when hovered over or clicked on will allow access the citation in the references section. You can also add them manually. See template:cite web, template:cite journal, template:cite book.

If you add them manually, then everything will need to be manually renumbered each time someone adds an automatic citation. If you have questions, please drop me a note on my talk page. Or, as I am not often around, ask at the wp:teahouse or wp:help desk. One can often figure out how to do something by looking at a bit of editing that someone else has done.
