List of recently extinct bird species edit

Please stop duplicating this list at the redirected article name. If you feel the list should be at a different article title, start a discussion at Talk:List of recently extinct bird species.--Kevmin § 05:04, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes please do. This is getting to be quite annoying. Don't edit-war, dicuss first. Continued attempts without consensus may be regarded as disruptive and lead to blocks. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 12:01, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing.

This is a very soft bunny who wishes you would talk to us.

Please, talk to us. We are friendly. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:06, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think the community would like to see one, excellent article. Please help us join the two together to make that happen. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:10, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think you made an article and did not know that the other one already existed. It was a waste of time. You must be upset. I have done the same thing a few times too. But that is okay. These things happen. Let's work together to fix things. Okay? I am here to help. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:18, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sorry Anna, I'm going to report them now and hope for a short block, as they are clearly paying zero attention to their talk page. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 12:19, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid you are right. I do hope they will work together with us once unblocked. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
If this is a shared IP address and you are an uninvolved editor with a registered account, you may continue to edit by logging in.

I have blocked you for 24 hours. Please discuss things. You cannot force your way at Wikipedia. It does not work that way. I am sorry I had to block you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:21, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • I wonder if this might not be a sock IP of User:Caftaric who first created the list page in question, and who was blocked for sock abuse recently?--Kevmin § 13:21, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Kevmin:, no, this is a long-term IP-hopping vandal who's been spamming, over the period of years and years and years, various pages with WP:OR, barely legible inanity, and inappropriate, nonexistent, and or inappropriate and nonexistent categories. This vandal also demonstrates a profound inability to communicate with or respond to other editors in any way or form whatsoever. May also be the latest incarnation of the "megafauna man" vandal. PS: all of the vandal's edits should be reverted as per WP:DENY mostly because it saves time. The vandal has made some useful edits, but searching for the useful edits amongst its nonconstructive edits is less productive than panning for gold teeth in sewage.--Mr Fink (talk) 17:01, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Apokryltaros: How are you telling that this isnt the same user? User:Caftarics edits were being actively discussed by a group of editors and Caftaric was blocked on 11 June. This IP became active on 30 June and 4 days of editing in (7 July) reverts the redirect of List of recently extinct birds species that Caftaric performed on 16 Feb 2017.--Kevmin § 01:18, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mr Fink. That's not good news. So, as this IP has been hanging on to this address since 30 June 2018, maybe long than an a 24 hour block this time. Maybe User:Enigmaman could see to that. So, Mr Fink, would you say that his contribs at this IP is a good example of where he edits? I'd like to keep a look out. Also, nice with the gold teeth thing. A good way to put it. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:52, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Kevmin: I don't believe this is Caftaric's handiwork, as I've reverted the vandal's edits on this IP earlier this month before. That, and the style of editing pretty much clinches that it's the IP-hopper I've dealt with before, as it also occasionally uses its current host IP's talkpage as a sandbox. It generally uses IPs starting with 139.xx.xxxx, but, like this IP, here, occasionally uses IPs that start with 140, too. @Anna Frodesiak: Yes, once the IP-hopper can no longer utilize its current IP, it will then hop to another IP, a process that takes anywhere from a day to a few weeks. And yes, it likes to haunt lists about animals, as well as specific animal articles.--Mr Fink (talk) 01:17, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mr Fink. Talkpage as sandbox, IP 139 and 140 a bit etc., animal lists etc., noted. I'll keep my eyes open and act with with block deny. Many thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:28, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'll extend the block but it probably won't matter. Enigmamsg 01:38, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Enigmaman. Agreed, it probably won't matter in the end. However, since he's been at it with this IP for 10 days, and continued right after the first 1 day block, it couldn't hurt. :) Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:32, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I blocked it. Enigmamsg 23:25, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
