Hi ZimZalaBim, I was not the person who performed this edit to the Hack Club page but I would like to make the case that it was warranted.
I am one of the staff members at Hack Club, where we have a large online community of teenagers who build things together. Recently we had to ban one of these members for their conduct in the community. In response they wrote a sort of manifesto, and then edited our wikipedia page to create the Criticism section and used their own post as the sole source for it.
We welcome constructive criticism of our organization, but that edit to our article is a revenge post from a teenager who is upset that they faced consequences for their inappropriate behavior. The cited source is a self-published source that does not meet wikipedia's standards for credibility, and the edit came from an IP with no prior edit history located in the same city as the student who wrote the blog post after being banned.
On these grounds I request that the section be removed as vandalism. Thank you for considering Polytroper (talk) 19:45, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
I suggest you discuss this on the article's talk page. --ZimZalaBim talk 20:51, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
