Michigan's 1st Senate district (also referred to as Michigan's 1st State Senate district) is a legislative district within the Michigan House of Representatives located in Wayne County, Michigan, running in a strip along the Detroit River. The district includes a large portion of the City of Detroit, including the city's Downtown, Midtown, Lower East Side, Lower West Side, and Southwest Side. The district also includes the Cities of River Rouge, Ecorse, Wyandotte, Riverview, Trenton, Woodhaven, and Gibraltar, along with Grosse Ile Twp. and a portion of Brownstown Twp..[3]
