Danny Wofford was a jobber in the heavyweight division for 20 years beginning in 1987 and retiring in 2007. He was incredibly short for a heavyweight at 5'7" and was knocked out 23 times in his 102 loss career. He was used to stretch out young fighters moving up in the heavyweight ranks and provide a good warm up for veteran fighters between big fights. He fought such contenders and champions as Phil Jackson, Bruce Seldon, Joe Hipp, Orlin Norris, Alex Stewart, Oliver McCall, Michael Dokes, James "Bonecrusher" Smith, Pinklon Thomas, Michael Bentt, Shannon Briggs, Trevor Berbick, Andrew Maynard, Michael Grant, James Warring, Peter McNeeley, Corey Sanders, Cedric Boswell, Courage Tshabalala, Robert Daniels, Maurice Harris, Ezra Sellers, Vaughn Bean, Alonzo Butler, Tim Witherspoon, Mitch Green, and Tony Tubbs.[1]

Wofford began his career as a super middleweight (and went 7-1-1) before moving up to heavyweight to pursue bigger paychecks. Despite his poor won-loss record, he was characterized as an opponent who could last in the ring.[2] [3] Wofford's record reflects that of an undersized fighter in an era of super sized heavyweights.
