1> On 22nd of June, at exactly 4am (Russian: Двадцать второго июня, ровно в четыре часа) [1941], borrows the melody from Blue Handerkerchief/ Blue Scarf (Polish: Błękitna chusteczka) (Russian: Синий платочек) [1940] by Polish composer Jerzy Petersburski with lyrics by Polish lyricist Stanisław Laudan or, Soviet poet and playwright Yakov Galitsky (Ru: Яков Галицкий)(born: Kirovohrad Oblast, Ukraine) . Soon after Germany declared war on Russia, Soviet poet Boris Kovynev (born: Poltava Oblast, Ukraine) wrote the widely popular lyrics for the song, although there are several variants of the songs.
