Career edit

After gaining a Ph.D in macromolecular science (polymer science and engineering) from Case Western Reserve University in 1987, Biddle worked for Dow Chemical, where he developed a pilot recycling project[1]. When the lab was closed he started Michael Biddle & Associates (MB&A), a consulting company for plastics recycling.

In 1994 founded MBA Polymers with colleague Trip Allen[2] to operate a facility MB&A helped start with the American Plastics Council. The company developed and patented Biddle's plastic recycling methods[3]. Under Biddle's leadership, MBA Polymers opened plastics recycling facilties in China, Austria and the UK.

In 2014, Biddle stepped down as president of MBA Polymers, but remains a non-executive board member.[4]

As well as MBA Polymers, Biddle holds board seats at Worldwatch as Director (2012-)[5], EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) as Director (2012-)[6], and Waste Free Oceans Americas as Director and President (2013-)[7]
