Foreverlamp is a LED Lighting Company, founded by Peter S. Shen. Headquatered in the Netherlands, Foreverlamp holds regional offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.
History
editLED was originally invented in 1927 by the Russian scientist Oleg Losev, and was rediscovered in 1961 to be used in calculators. The LED market has grown exponentially in different segments of the market. From the automotive to the aviation industry the potential of LED is infinite. This trend has continued to the consumer lighting market in 1993 after several years of research bringing white LED to homes and the professional markets. Peter S. Shen saw this opportunity and created Foreverlamp to provide energy efficient LED lighting for the consumer and professional market.
In collaboration with Alessi, Foreverlamp produced a new line of revolutionary new shapes of LED Light Bulbs and Luminaires under the name AlessiLux. Foreverlamp also brings a range of LED retrofit products under the name of Foreverlamp.
Management
editThe management consists of founder Peter S. Shen toghether with the Research & Development Management team based in Asia and the Marketing & Sales Magagement team based in Europe. Peter Shen founded Electronic Ballast Technology (EBT) which became the leading company in the US in Lighting Electronics. EBT was acquired by the Lighting giant Philips and Peter became Global President of Philips Lighting Electronics in the mid nineties.

Cooperation with Alessi
editTogether with Design Company Alessi from Milan, Foreverlamp brought in 2011 a new product range on the market under the AlessiLux brand. Alberto Alessi CEO of Alessi, is the eldest son of Carlo Alessi, representing the third generation of the Alessi family. Together, Foreverlamp and Alessi came up with a collection of LED Design Light Bulbs and Luminaires, which, unlike the traditional Light Bulbs, are revolutionary in shape and decorative on their own. The designs are ranging from shapes inspired by an oil lamp, the North Star and Tam Tam drums, to more fairytale like design based on ballrooms, crystal chandeliers and Strauss. In April 2012 a new range of Portable Luminaires was introduced, giving total flexiblity in lighting solutions.
Designers
editThe AlessiLux collection is designed by three designers:
Frederic Gooris, is an industrial designer, graduated from the Hogeschool Antwerpen in 1998. In 1999 he moved to Milan, where he obtained his Master in Design at Domus Academy. In 2010 he moved to Hong Kong to open the second office of Gooris in order to offer concept and industrial design, and finished products, designed on demand. For Foreverlamp he designed the Ricordo, UFO, Tam Tam, Polaris, Paraffina, and the Vienna.
Anghini Giovanni Alessi conducted his primary studies in Italy and Switzerland, his professional training began at the University of Florence where he focused his attention on courses in cultural sociology and anthropology. In 2002, he returned to Milan with a view to translating and applying his studies to industrial design, and working on a freelance basis. He founded his own studio, Design Farm, in 2006. In the following years his work was recognized with the 2008 GOOD DESIGN AWARD.
Gabriele Chiave moved around from during his childhood, and completed his French baccalaureate diploma in Rome. His passion for design brought him to Milan where he studied Industrial Design at IED. After gaining experience in Milan, working for several recognized companies, he moved to Amsterdam in 2007, working as head of the design team for Wanders studio working for international renowed design companies. Together with his fellow designer Anghini Giovanni Alessi, he designed the Lumière, Flame, Abatjour, and DR, which have been adopted in the Foreverlamp range.
