Plogging Nigeria Club is an environmental sustainability and fitness centered club that came to existence to achieve physical fitness while caring for the environment. It was formally launched on 2nd June, 2018[1] as part of the event to mark the 2018 World environment day.

Plogging Nigeria Club was founded by Iyaomolere Mayokun, an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife Nigeria in times when enviromental conservation was uneasy to come by. The club include members in different categories of students and staff of universities, indigenes of a different locations who are ready to volunteer to clean up the environment at intervals. Members of the club are called Ploggas while the person monitoring each plogging session(episode) is referred to as the plogga-in-charge(PIC).

The motto of the club is we keep fit to keep clean which demonstrates how fitness activities are carried out before, during and after each session, while also picking litter in the environment. This activity has helped to shapen the mindset and waste management culture of majority of people.[2]

Plogging Nigeria club has been able to win awards, expand to various locations in and out of Nigeria, and also incorporate online trainings on proper waste management and conservation of eco system.[3]
