The Cardiovascular Clinical Trialists Forum (often abridged CVCT) is a recurring gathering of physicians, academics, officials and healthcare industry representatives, all experts in the field of medical research linked to cardiovascular disease and treatment.

editThe CardioVascular Clinical Trialists Forum is a forum co-founded by Prof. Faiez Zannad and Dr. Bertram Pitt.
Program format and length of the meeting
editThe CVCT Forum expands over 3 days. The scientific program consists of two tracks running in parallel in two rooms. In 2019, a third track was introduced.
"The meeting encourages knowledge-sharing between participants as CVCT aims to familiarize practitioners and investigators with the science of clinical trials from protocol design to result interpretation. Further, CVCT Forum puts attendees into direct contact with primary investigators, senior trial scientists as well as research and development experts from pharmaceutical/device companies and experts from regulatory agencies."
The launch of CVCT Asia and CVCT Middle East
editIn 2014, CVCT Asia was launched in Singapore under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Lam (Senior Consultant at the National Heart Centre, Singapore (NHCS) and Professor of Duke-NUS Cardiovascular Academic Clinical Program). In 2017, CVCT Middle East was launched under the direction of Prof. Mohamed Sobhy (Professor of Cardiology, Alexandria University).

editSince 2013 the CVCT Forum has been held in the Maison Française of the Embassy of France in United States in Washington D.C.

editThe CVCT meetings include Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), clinical trialists, investigators, regulators, statisticians, industry R&D experts, decision makers and practitioners.

History
editThe first editions of the CVCT were held in Cannes, France. Then it moved to Paris. In 2013, the meeting was moved to Washington, DC the home of the FDA and the NIH institute. Since then, the presence of the FDA and NIH members have increased.
Patients inclusiveness
editSince 2015 the CVCT Forum started including patient representatives and advocates on the panels for a more balanced discussion. The presence of patients increased year after year, with 2019 seeing the participation of 22 patients.

editThe CVCT scientific secretariat is managed by Stéphanie Grojean based in Nancy, France.
Logistical organization
editToday the Cardiovascular Clinical Trialists Forum is organized by Overcome SARL, a Paris based Professional Congress Organizer (PCO).
