The Journal of Energy Challenges and Mechanics (officially abbreviated JECM) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal specialising in the fields of Energy and Mechanics.[1] The journal is published by Aberdeen-based North Sea Conference & Journal Ltd, and many of its papers in the field of Energy are selected from among the papers submitted to their conferences, held annually.[2] Papers from this journal have been cited in leading journals within the field, such as Energy and the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.[3][4]

In 2017, the journal gained recognition outside the academic community when American entrepreneur Ashok Chaudhari's research firm was awarded Frost & Sullivan's Photovoltaic Materials Technology Innovation Award in recognition of patents granted on the basis of his research, previously published in JECM.[5] Chaudhari went on to chair a session at the 7th International Symposium on Energy Challenges & Mechanics later that year.[6]
