I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

• If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
• If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.

I wasn't aware that my username might not meet Wikipedia's policy. I chose it because it is the username I use on many other sites. I have now reread Wikipedia:Username policy. Could you explain what the problem is? Maproom 23:11, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Request for Assistance

Good day mate! My name is Laurinavicius and I am a member of WikiProject Former Countries. After a lengthy period of neglect, the aforementioned WikiProject is being revived by a group of several dedicated members working individually. I am amongst these individuals and am working to unite all of these members into co-operating rather than contributing to the project by themselves. This attempt appears to be going smoothly, except for several snags: the enormous amount of workload for just several individuals, a lack of members, large numbers of articles that need to be assessed and re-assessed, and the lack of a talented and experienced mapmaker. From what I understand, you seem to have both of those qualities. Therefore, I ask for your assistance as the head mapmaker of the WikiProject. If you accept, you will head the now-defunct Cartography Department and supervise any future mapmakers that may join the WikiProject. I'm sorry for my error as I had thought that the majority of those maps in your gallery had been made by yourself. However, you can still work as a mapmaker for the project (as long as your interested) by getting the maps on your website through commons onto the articles that are in need of maps. None of the individuals who I've spoken to (including myself) have a clue how to do this sort of work. That would make you just as beneficial to the project as any mapmaker. What I meant was that you had created those maps yourself using Inkscape or a similar product. However, if you are interested in learning such techniques, I'm sure that the boys down at WP historical atlas can show you the ropes if you join them. Oxford Canal Route Map

My apologies for initially (a) answering the wrong question, not having read the question properly; and (b) answering it in the wrong place, not having read the top of your talk page first. The lock (with a drop of only a foot or so) is near the east end of the Duke's Cut, with its middle directly beneath the railway lines. You can see it here. So it is. Since I have the source in Excel, it was simple to move a large block over and add a small bend to the main line, to give more space. It looks to me like the River is higher (the single gate is closed and moves clockwise to open - going on the foot "grips") - so I've used a uLockl. I added your other two Thames locks to my source code. Let me know if I have it all correct. Ronhjones (talk) 22:29, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, that looks good. I think you are right about the orientation of the lock.

But here's a suggestion. As you have made the map wider, there is room for this: (1) rearrange the bends in the Thames so that, south from "A34 Western Bypass Road Bridge" it is one unit further west, (2) flip "Isis Lock Junction" so that the main line south (now ending just short of what used to be Oxford Basin) carries straight on as it does on the ground, (3) move "Isis Lock No 46" and its connected waterways one block to the west. I will gladly do this myself, but as you maintain the Excel source, maybe it's better for you to do it? Maproom (talk) 09:17, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Llŷn/Lleyn map

Hi, Maproom. I noticed that you did some work on the file Lleyn peninsula.png. I was wondering if you could possibly correct the name given on the map in line with the article name, i.e. Llŷn Peninsula? I'm not sure why we have the capital 'P', - a small 'p' is fine by me - but the name should be Llŷn rather than Lleyn. Thank you. I see now that I have put the "l" too close to the "ŷ" (this does not show up on the original image I was working with). But I hope it's good enough. Changing P to p fortunately was easy - I just had to shift it south, and there were no rivers etc. in the way. Personal union

Hello. Please don't revert my edit. I know it seemed to be vandalism, but it wasn't. There was no personal union between Hungary and Croatia, the whole section is a huge POV. The vandal edit truly was made by user Kebeta, you should revert his edits. Toroko (talk) 14:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Pacta Conventa is a ridiculous forgery from centuries later. Read Southeastern Europe in the Middle Ages, 500-1250. It was a Hungarian conquest, not a personal union. Anyway, this "Pacta Conventa" doesn't mention any personal union neither, only that Croatia wasn't conquered. Toroko (talk) 19:12, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Horton graph aut group

Hello.

I have just computed the automorphism group of the Horton graph using GAP and data from Mathematica ([1]) and I get 96 (the excact group is $C_{2}\times C_{2}\times S_{4}$). How did you find 576 ? Koko90 (talk) 11:55, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

I assumed, wrongly, that the Horton graph is isomorphic to the regular map which tiles the torus with 48 hexagons. That regular map is fully transitive, so it must have four times as many automorphisms as edges, i.e. 576. The regular map, like the Horton graph, has 96 vertices, 144 edges, chromatic number 2,chromatic index 3; but its radius is 8, so it's not the same as the Horton graph.
