WP:SOVMETRO edit

Don't you think that this project is dead now? We should do something to revert this, I am not very happy about current situation. --Aktron (t|c) 13:05, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Invitation to a discussion on the Russians talk page edit

Hello. I started a discussion on the Russians article talk page. Due to the fact that people as i see havent visited it for a long time, every opinion is important and will get attention. The discussion is important for the article. You can find the discussion here:-) Thank you. M.V.E.i. 17:04, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back edit

You said you'll return on the 15th so, welcome back :-) Hope the manoeuvres came easy to you. There are two debates i think you will be interested to take part in. One about the Russians in Ukraine article, and one thet i already lefy you a messege about yesterday. Anyway, they are not urgent so take your time to rest and join the discussions wherever you are ready. M.V.E.i. 09:19, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Infobox edit

I added an infobox and an image to the Russians in Ukraine article. M.V.E.i. 09:24, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Russians in Ukraine edit

Hello :-)

1. I created an infobox and an image. From the image i would like to remove Voroshilov, and insert someone else insted of him. Hope you could suggest someone on the article talk-page.

2. I see that you understand in relegion, so is there any chance you could somehow improve the Relegion section? Because as i did it it came out really primitive.

Thank you. M.V.E.i. 12:03, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Friendly reminder edit

You have already reverted the text 3 times today[1][2][3]. Please mind the 3RR. Happy editing. --Hillock65 12:50, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Actually it does help to highlight my latter edits, immediately after each "revert" when I restored some of the sections you added. But do tell me why, out of nowhere you develop such an interest to the topic? Let's just hope that this incident, like others, is not part of a forbidden behaivour. --Kuban Cossack 13:06, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Please return to the argument edit

Please return to the Kuban Cossacks argument, i'm not shure i could handle it on my own. If possible, please bring more people who understand in it so we could have a full-scale argument. M.V.E.i. 21:56, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Right now I have little time to spare, I will of course try to make edits as I can. --Kuban Cossack 12:49, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

request edit

Hello, I see that you are a Russian editor. The article on Battle of Narva (1700) seems to be written by some anonymous IPs from a pro-Swedish and anti-Russian POV, and looking at the history they have already been warned. If the events of the north are of any interest to you, you might want to look over it. Thanks, Ostap 07:17, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

I promise to look into it, but right now I have too much time on my hands. Thank you for reminding me of it. --Kuban Cossack 17:59, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Help is needed? edit

Hello :-)

As you probably noticed, in your user page the pictures block some of whats written. Can i try to edit it? Because i think that if we move the images to the bottom at the edit page, the written wont be blocked by the image. If that wont work i will return it to be the way it was (is now). The thing is that what you wrote is very interesting, and it's sad that many who might want to read it wont be abale to (shure you can enter "edit" to read the full text, like i did, but many are afraid to mess with it). You can answer if you agree or not here. M.V.E.i. 17:25, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Really? It works for me on several displays including widescreen 1280x800. Also get Mozilla Firefox, if you have IE. Also can you send me an e-mail while you are at it ("e-mail this user" should work). Thanks --Kuban Cossack 18:00, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Hmm do not have Mozilla Fire fox (since in this software you cant open a few windows in one), and i dont have a widescreen. The program i ussually use is MyIE2, and here are screenshots of how it looks here:

And i have the same thing when using the regular Explorer.

As you can see, i cant sent you e-mails due to the fact that i just dont see the "sent an email" thing.

If on your computer it is seen fine, and nobody except me notified about it, maybe it is only on my screen computer. M.V.E.i. 19:12, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Right go and increase your PC resolution, I guess you are on 800 x 600, (right click on desktop-> properties-> advanced, let me now if you find it) Increase at least to 1024 x 760 (I think it is that) and the page should be viewed alright. --Kuban Cossack 19:17, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
BTW E-mail this user actually appears on your screenshot (on the left).--Kuban Cossack 19:18, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Wow, thank you!!! It worked. Now i see it all fine. But i still don't see the email thing. M.V.E.i. 19:38, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Now i found the email thing! Usually users place it on the user page so that's where i searched before. M.V.E.i. 19:54, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
No, that thing doesn't work. It writed me: This user has not specified a valid e-mail address, or has chosen not to receive e-mail from other users. M.V.E.i. 19:57, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Maybe you forgot the next thing:

Screen-shot 3.

You need to mark the Enable thing i surounded in red. After marking it people can sent you Emails to. M.V.E.i. 20:01, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Two metters edit

Hello :-)

I came here about to metters:

1. Have you recived the e-mail i have sent you?

2. In the Alexander Lukashenko article there's a critisism section. I added to the section what his supporters think of him (because before that it had only propoganda against Lukashenko), the problem is i dont know how to write Russian (only how to read and speak, a problem many of those who immigrated to Israel at a young age like me have), and i dont know Belorusian, so i cant find references supporting what i have stated. I hope you could help me with that, and offcourse if you could add more things in his support that will be nice.

Thank you. M.V.E.i. 19:05, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

As i understood you are Russian so... edit

Could you please help with the Russian martial arts thing?

I will tell you the problems:

1. Russian martial arts article needs referencing, and i couldn't find thise.

2. There are articles about martial arts in Russian that need to be translated to English. After translated to English, they also need to be referenced and expanded (the demends on the English Wikipedia are higher). Those articles are: [4], [5], [6].

If you can't do that, then please leave that messege to someone who can help here. Thank you. PocketMoon 17:25, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't want to dissapoint you, but unfortunately I have too much time on my hands. My best advise is to contact some Russian admins such as User:Ezhiki and User:abakharev and ask them that question.
Understood. Thank you. PocketMoon 10:13, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Kuban Cossacks Discussion edit

I wanted to add several comments that are more appropriate on personal talk pages than on the article's general discussion pages. Despite our disagreements I have a lot of respect for you and enjoy your contributions.

I find it interesting that you condemn Bandera and Shukhevich as murderers (presumably for the disgusting massacres of the Polish population in Volyn) and criticize modern Ukrainians for thinking of them as heroes. Perhaps you should reflect on your own glorification of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, who in fighting against his people's oppression also unleashed a wave of terror against Poles and Jews [7] which was no less than that of UPA. The bahavior of the Zaporozhian cosack Maksym Zalizniak 100 years later also fits thispattern. In a sense, UPA can be considered Khmelnytsky's heirs on several fronts, doing in Volyn what Khmelnytsky had done in central Ukraine (and before you mention Pereyaslav, don't forget that Khmelnytsky turned to the Russians last, after the Tatars had betrayed him and when he was desperate; the Hetman was already plotting with the Swedes at the time of his death). Modern Ukrainian veneration of Bandera or Shukhevych is not much different from all Ukrainians' veneration of Khmelnytsky.

With respect to your comments on ethnicity, it seems that you are confusing loyalty or ideology with ethnicity. I mentioned friends in Kiev, ethnic Russians, who support Ukrainization and are loyal to Ukraine's independence. According to you, these people ceased being Russians and became Ukrainians. Why? They themselves speak Russian (the kids go to Ukrainian schools and speak Ukrainian amongst themselves), claim that they are ethnic Russian Ukrainian citizens, have Russian parents, know Pushkin etc. My mother-in-law, a resident of Moscow, is absolutely loyal to Russia, has negative feelings towards Orange Ukraine and does not like what she sees asPoland's meddling in Ukraine and Poland's political anti-Russian acts (such as those invovling the Baltic sea pipeline). Yet she is 100% ethnic Pole, a practicing Roman Catholic, favorite composer Chopin, etc. People (such as you and other Kuban Cossacks such as Zakharchenko) can be loyal and patriotic citizens of Russia while also being ethnic Ukrainians. Likewise, ethnic Russians can be loyal to the Ukrainian state and its aims without losing their Russian ethnicity as with that couple from Kiev I mentioned. Ethnicity is not a political option, it is about culture, language, blood, etc. bestFaustian 16:16, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Do you want to continue the discussion off wikispace and by e-mail, there are too many "eyes" here.--Kuban Cossack 14:35, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Good idea. My e-mail is: faustian70@yahoo.com. regards, Faustian 15:03, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Belarus edit

In view of this I had a look at [8] and found more. I tried to fix Lahojsk, which was easiest for me. I invite you to check whether you agree. Barysaw is definitely not the only one... --Paul Pieniezny 14:40, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Just forgot, Shkloŭ is another one that should be speedily dealt with, but here you also have the Belarusian form of Lukashenko - I do not dare touch that one. Name that reminds me of "Klow", the Syldavian capital in Tintin stories, but that is probably a Slavicization of Cleves ... --Paul Pieniezny 14:49, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

There are some changes going on the Igor Sikorsky page. Feel free to take part in the discussions on the article's talk page. No Free Nickname Left 13:11, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Your mail edit

I took a look, and it seems to me that as long as you are able to produce the sources to back up your statements, you should be fine. I see no reason for me to intervene at this point, especially considering that my knowledge of that particular topic is rather limited. Image:Russians Ukraine 2001.PNG edit

Hi. I'm doing the GA review for Russians in Ukraine. The map Image:Russians Ukraine 2001.PNG is very good, but it would be very helpful if the cities mentioned in the top right could be included in the map. -Oreo Priest 18:55, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Romanization of Russian edit

Hi, Kuban! Since you previously expressed interest in the WP:RUS guideline, perhaps you would be interested in reviewing a re-defined Wikipedia talk:Romanization of Russian#criteria of conventionality proposal I have just submitted. I intend editors to vote on it, but any comments are, of course, also welcome. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 17:40, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

‘Personal attacks’ edit

Done — I removed from Ukrainian language's Talk Page the words you felt as offensive. This was not my intention. I only meant to ask you to be more rigorous, more neutral in the way you present things, and as I could see on some pages lengthy ‘deaf talks’ (dialogues de sourds, like the French say) which led nobody to nowhere and many other really mean and disruptive behaviors. I really wondered if it was useful to ask you to be more objective. And I am wondering whether I do well to write these lines here, as I guess you are thinking these are personal attacks… I would be sorry if you took these like this. Please, don't.
I am relatively new to Wikipedia: I left Wikipedia at the end of 2004/beginning of 2005 (I can't remember when it was exactly) because of things getting more and more wrong here; I came back mid-Oct, 2007, believing these things would have been tamed. I can see it is not, far from it.
Please, let's cool it. Привіт! — Kanġi Oĥanko (talk) 12:33, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Are you serious? If you are, then please go ahead and report my persistant WP:STALKing that you noted here [9]. I look forward to seeing the evidence you gather. Ostap 02:12, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

New Minsk Metro Map edit

It looks good. Thanks for the effort! Russian text looks OK, but there are minor Belarusan text glitches there.

If the file was SVG, I'd just correct those myself (and I'm supposing the BGN translit was used):

  • Kammiennaya Horka - Kamyennaya Horka
  • Frunzenskaya - Frunzyenskaya
  • Niamiha - Nyamiha
  • Pershamaiskaya - Pyershamayskaya
  • Praletarskaya - Pralyetarskaya
  • Ploshcha Peramohi - Ploshcha Pyeramohi
  • Ploshcha Lenina - Ploshcha Lyenina
  • Piatrowshchyna - Pyatrowshchyna
