Jack Gordon (born 18 November 1995) is a Scottish international footballer who currently plays as a centre back for Scottish Premier League club Celtic.
Gordon is known for his versatility, passing, free kick and crossing abilities. He is also well known for his fast sprinting speed and unmatched strength.
Early life
editGordon grew up in Ripon and attended Outwood Academy Ripon From a very young age his potential ability was spotted by the then Annan Athletic F.C. manager Harry Cairney. He was quoted saying "I believe this young lad to be the next Maldini." This was Harry reffering to the world world renowned centre back Paolo Maldini.
Club career

editIn 2011 Gordon signed a 4-year deal with wages reportedly at around £500 per week. Many of the players at Annan recognised Gordons potential to become one of the best center backs in the world.
Celtic
editIn the January transfer window Celtic signed Gordon on a 5-year deal for a total of £3 million. This was the largest sum of money that Annan had recieved for a single player. The 5-year deal is worth £1,500 per week. Celtic manager Neil Lennon spoke of his delight of signing Gordon by saying "It is one of my best siginings and he will be one of the worlds best players in the near future".
