The Bellsbank Warriors' (nicknamed the Junkies) are a professional football club from Dalmellington, Scotland. Despite their name, the club are based at Station Park in the Ayr Road street of the village, The club have been members of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) since its formation in 2013 and compete in the Scottish Premiership, the highest tier of the SPFL structure.
Since 2012, Bellsbank have played in their distinctive Orange-Maddug jerseys of varying designs, with stripes, and predominantly Orange tops, and gold trim having been used, although in 2015, Bellsbank Warriors launched a kit which was made in the colours of buckfast, a local drink up in those parts.
The club are managed by former Centre Attacking Midfielder Iain Mcwilliam, who took over the role on 11th January 2014, following the departure of Tubby Techno, who became the mascot. Under Mcwilliam's management, the club achieved promotion to the newly formed Scottish Premiership in 2016, and have remained there for two consecutive seasons.
History
editFormation and early years
editRight back in 2010, when this club was first formed, by Big Keith. Keith, who moved down from Glesga to settle doon in Bellsbank, a former gangster of a numbers, Keith decided to start a football club, and it was gonnae be cawd The Bellsbank Warriors.
The Bellsbank Warriors first game was a friendly against "Craigmark Burntonians" who they pumped 5-0. They were placed into the Scottish Lowland Leagues, and have since worked their way up to the top flight of Scottish Football also known as the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Bellsbank Warriors finished 6th in the 2016-2017 season, they currently sit 1st in the (SPFL) table as we speak of this.
Now the fans sing a song in "Big Keith's" honour. Called "Keith had a dream".
Sponsors
editThe club's main sponsor is Bield Housing, which was confirmed at the start of the 2021–22 in Scottish football|2010–11 season]], this would be the clubs third sponsor. The new sponsorship deal is thought to be worth around £5,000,000 for three years.
Warriors's kit maker is Italian manufacturers Kappa.
