Pavin Chachavalpongpun (born 1971) is a Thai scholar and political exile. He was born in Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated a Bachelor's degree from Chulalongkorn University and a Master's degree from SOAS University of London. He worked as a diplomat in Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for thirteen years, then an political science academic, and currently a professor of University of Tokyo.

He is a well known critic of the state of Thai monarchy and Thai politics, regularly gives lecture and writes articles and opinions on the topics. After the 2014 Thai coup d'état, the junta ordered him to turn in, but he refused and lived in self-exile ever since. His current residence is in Tokyo, Japan. However, there is an incidence when he was assaulted near his residence, reportedly linked to Thai authority.

In 2020, he launched a Facebook page "Royalist Marketplace" as a forum to discuss and criticize Thai monarchy freely.
