Introduction edit

Hello and welcome! I am Elizabeth (aka, Eewilson) and hail from the Midwestern United States. I spend more than my share of time on Wikipedia, caring for cats, and performing genealogical research.

Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as valuable to the child as it is to the caterpillar.

— Bradley Miller

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

People first. Then money. Then things.

Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

Be redundant.

Why I use vertical format templates and align the equal signs edit

Astigmatism is a semi-common, yet problematic, condition, that eyewear can correct with limitations. Please respect my need to align equal signs in the infoboxes and citation templates of the articles where I am the primary editor. Thank you.

Should something ever happen to me edit

Should something ever happen to me while our beloved Wikipedia is still operational (although I do plan to live to be 102), I ask that someone with a love for American asters, or the desire to have that love, take over the care and nurturing of the Symphyotrichum and related species articles.

This user passionately and lovingly edits Symphyotrichum articles.

Misunderstood templates edit

Strong edit

{{Strong}} is not the same as '''bold'''. The two are not interchangeable and should be used in different situations. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Usability/Scannability.

  • Template:Strong – documentation for a relatively new instruction related to "intentional and semantically meaningful" text that should not just be '''bolded''' but should also be considered important. This is not required, but it helps with accessibility.

Em edit

  • Similar to Template:Strong, but for mild emphasis. {{Em}} is not the same as ''italicize''. See Template:Em.

GAs edit

  • Hypericum sechmenii
    • failed (30 January 2021): There was a potential copyright issue on one image; other issues resolved at that time, but that remained open. It was cleared up on second round.
    • passed (5 February 2021 – 14 February 2021): Excellent work, and a very responsive and thorough nominator.
  • Neoblast (15 February 2021 – 18 February 2021): failed – It was too technical and had some other issues. The nominator planned to improve the article.
  • Fontainea venosa (26 June 2021 – 5 August 2021): failed – The nominator disappeared before work was finished.
  • Jane Ingham (1 October 2021 – 13 October 2021): passed – A joy of an article and a joy of a nominator!
  • Eucalyptus rhodantha (1 December 2022 – 7 January 2023): passed – This article needed a lot of work, but the nominator persevered, as did I, and we got it done!
  • Persea palustris (3 December 2022 – 11 January 2023): failed – The nominator was unable to continue review because of being busy.
