Davao Global Township is an under construction financial, residential and lifestyle district in Davao City, Philippines. It is located 3 km (1.86 mi) west of the city hall of Davao City. The entire project used to be a golf course called the Matina Golf Course. The 22-hectare project is under a joint venture by Cebu Landmasters Inc. and YHEST Realty and Development Corp and is by far the largest project Cebu Landmasters has ever undertaken. The cost of the entire project is estimated to be at P33 billion.

YHEST partnered with RTKL, a global planning and design firm responsible for the revival of some downtown centers in various countries, for the design of 93000 square meters of gross floor area in the first phase, set to be completed in 2022.[1]

A Memorandum Of Understanding(MOU) was signed between Cebu Landmasters Inc. and YHEST Realty and Development Corp. on May 19, 2017.

Access and transportation

Road

edit

The Davao River Bridge, part of the Carlos P. Garcia National Highway.

The airport is connected to the city via the Carlos P. Garcia National Highway. The 4-laned La Verna-Mamay Bypass Road road was constructed and finished in 2017 near the airport to decongest traffic going from Mamay road to the airport and beyond and vice versa, by avoiding the usually busy intersection of Mamay Road and the Carlos P. Garcia National Highway. To avoid widening a road, which would displace houses and creep onto the airport's site, the road splits into two for 600 meters then merges back. It has a length of 1.7 kilometers, and is able to accommodate 1,000 vehicles per day.[2]

The planned Davao City Expressway will further connect the airport to the city via a diamond interchange. If it goes according to plan, the entire project will be completed in 2026.[3]
