Ivan Bukenya born 01 November 1991 in Kampala is an exciting young Ugandan defender player, who has shown remarkable ability and skill for a player so young and is often being heralded in the media as a great young defender that is to carry Uganda to higher levels in soccer.

Proline F.C

In 2006 he joined Proline Football Club where he showed remarkable ability leading Proline F.C promotion in 2009 to play in top flight football in the Ugandan Super (premier) league. His accurate Good Game reading, Tackling and Good ball winning technique, Accurate Passing, Good Ball Control, Quick Reaction, Confident on the Ball and Good Aerial presence enticed the U20 coach and National team coach to call him in 2010 for U20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and 2011 for Senior National Team in CHAN Championship in Sudan and Nile Basin in Egypt respectively.

In Jan 2012, he joined Iraq side Arbil S.C were he has become a force to reckon with and went on to become the Iraq premier league 2011/12 season as well as Asian Cup Finalist winning a silver medal in 2012. He has branded himself as among the best defender in Asia and many clubs are eyeing signature not only in Asia but also in Europe.

He has become the fans favorite in Arbil city scoring great goals as well as setting many to other players.



International career

In his first season 2009/10 he was called by Uganda U20 Coach Video Anyau for the CECAFA U20 Championship which Uganda U20 won in Eritrea in 2010 and also in U20 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt U20 which Uganda lost on 2-1 aggregate. In 2011 he was also called by Uganda national coach Bobby Williamson to represent the Uganda Senior National team in the CHAN Africa Champions that took place in Sudan and also for Uganda in U23 All Africa games as well as 2012 Olympics qualifiers.
