Mugen Souls (圧倒的遊戯ムゲンソウルズ) is a RPG developed by Compile Heart with collaboration from GCREST and published in NA and the PAL regions by NIS America. Due to the questionable nature of the game's portrayal of child protagonists, certain aspects of the western release have been edited and some mini-games have been disabled.^[3] A sequel titled Mugen Souls Z has been announced with a release date in Japan of April 25, 2013.^[4]

Synopsis

Even though there is someone in staff called Keiji Inafune working on the game^[5] The main character designer is Nanameda Kei and Hirano Katsuyuki was in charge of the erotic cgs, Satou Tenpei is the main composer. Ryoji and Keiji Inafune participated as two guest character designers. Peon creation system was based off of G-CREST's @games's Selfi and for that reason, Harada Takehito was credited as a character designer for designing the NPC Selfina.

The main character Chou-Chou is a young girl who proclaims herself as The Undisputed God even-though none of her companions take it seriously. Mugen Souls known as an overwhelmingly insane RPG, damage can go past the billions, the battles are quite intricate all combined with the strengthening system allows vast amounts of customization. The word "peon" is commonly used in many parts of the game including the most of the game's system.

Chou-Chou is the character you mainly control, going around attempting to make the Seven World's Galaxy her slave. Moe kill is the name of her special command that can be used on the field or battle system to help make everything, including continents, into her peons.

The special limited edition of Mugen Souls comes with a Chou-Chou, Altis and Shampuru mini Nendoroids along with a mini soundtrack and artbook.

Plot

Chou-Chou is a girl who wakes up in the in the middle of the universe with amnesia and the first thing she sees are 7 pretty objects hers that she wants to make hers but can't reach. Out of nowhere, the devilish angel Atlis stumbles upon Chou-Chou and began conversing and doubting each other. Out of nowhere again, Ryuto stumbles upon the two girls on his ship, the G-Castle. Ryuto became infatuated the first time he saw her and Chou-Chou used her ability to Moe Kill the first time. Ryuto became her first loyal peon and gladly gave up ship like it was nothing, leaving Altis in complete surprised.

Altis' now had plans commit the ultimate evil so she can return back to her original self. The three now begin their adventure to conquer the Seven Worlds Galaxy.

A mysterious girl who constantly confronts Chou-Chou and friends during their travels.

Belleria: A mysterious girl who shows up in front of Chou-Chou and the party. Class is unknown.; Her outside appearance may seem mysterious but on the contrary she has a calm and ditzy personality.; Just like Chou-Chou, Belleria also has the ability to turn things into her peons but her and gathers them with her own purpose which becomes quite troublesome for team.

Renegade Shampuru: Always sticks around with Belleria. It's class is Belleria's peon.; They are basically the same thing as Chou-Chou's Shampuru except for that they are black which gives them an evil appearance.; Ryuto is able to understand these Shampuru because they are both peons of the same class. Chou-Chou likes to call them Renegade Shampuru and that they have gotten used to it.

Critical reception

The Game was met with mixed reviews. It holds a score of 58/100 on Metacritic and 56.14% on GameRankings. Average user reviews are rather quite positive with an 8.4 average.^[12]
