Chiang Kai-shek Diaries is the detailed and personal diaries of Chiang Kai-shek, recording his feelings and thoughts of the time, written down by himself between 1918 and 1972 in Chinese calligraphy and in a literary style, contained in 76 manuscript boxes. In 2005, Elizabeth Chiang(Chinese:蒋方智怡), the widow of Chiang Ching-kuo's third son, had decided on behave of the Chiang family, Hoover Institution of Stanford University should be the caretaker institution of this "fragile and (of) poor condition" manuscript for the next 50 years, "pending the creation of a suitable repository on Chinese territory".[1]

Mao is a sometime Yin sometime Yang strange man, he has a soft-as-cotton outer layer, but at the same time has sharp needles hiding inside... I do not think he could achieve anything, at the end he will be crushed inside my palm.

Yang Tianse(Chinese: 杨天石) is a professor of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences、who had begun Chiang's diaries study during the 1980s, is the first Chinese scholar to read and study the manuscript when it was first opened to public in 2006, is regarded as the authority in the subject. Yang stated that by researching the manuscript, readers can understand the inner thinking of Chiang Kai-shek.
