Firuza Sharipova Fakhritdinova (b.d. August 29 1994, Taraz, Kazakhstan) — Kazakhstani athlete, boxer. World champion in the 2nd featherweight (IBO, 2017—2019), lightweight (WIBA, 2017—16 June; WBU, 2017—16 June) and 1st welterweight (IBA, 2020—16 June)) weight categories.

Bronze medalist of the Asian Championship (2012). At the championships of Kazakhstan, she won two gold medals (2012, 2013), one silver (2014) and one bronze (2016).

Biography

Born on August 29, 1994 in Taraz, Kazakhstan. By nationality is Uzbek[2]. Firuza became the second child in the family (there is an older brother). Later, two more boys and one girl were born in the family. Sharipova graduated from high school No. 39 and Kainar college. Now she is studying in the last year at the Taraz Pedagogical university, majoring in "Physical Culture and sports"[3][4][5].

As a child, Firuza was engaged in cycling and water polo. At the age of 12, she started boxing[4][5].

Kazakhstan Championship 2012

Firuza Sharipova competed in the 1st light-middleweight category (up to 64 kg). In the final, she defeated Aliya Abdraimova[7].

Asian Championship 2012

Competed in the 1st light-middleweight category (up to 64 kg). In the semifinals, lost to the Mongol Erdenebat Range[8].

World Championship 2012

Competed in the 1st light-middleweight category (up to 64 kg). In the 1/8 final, lost to Sweden's Patricia Berghult[9].

Kazakhstan Championship 2013

Competed in the light weight category (up to 60 kg). In the quarterfinals, Firuza defeated Natalia Tarasenko. In the semifinals, defeated Gulzhan Ubunutu. She won Zuru Khusainova[10] in the final.

Kazakhstan Championship 2014

Competed in the light weight category (up to 60 kg). In the quarterfinals defeated Tansholpan Karataeva. In the semifinals, defeated Aliya Abdraimova. Lost the final to Gulzhan Abbinato[11].

Kazakhstan Championship 2015

Competed in the light weight category (up to 60 kg). In the quarterfinals, Firuza lost to Aliya Abdraimova[12].

Kazakhstan Championship 2016

Competed in the light weight category (up to 60 kg). In the quarterfinals, she defeated Karina Ibragimova. In the semifinals, Firuza lost to Rima Volosenko[13].

Professional career

Collaborates with manager Sergey Zavileysky[4]. Personal Trainer-Erik Algabek[14].

Sharipova made her professional debut on May 21, 2016. She lost on points to the Russian boxer Sofia Ochigava[15][16].

She trained in Moscow under the guidance of Vyacheslav Yanovsky[4].

In 2017, Firuza created her own promotion company FSK Promotion[17][18][19].

Championship fight with Milena Koleva

On August 26, 2017, Firuza Sharipova faced Bulgarian Milena Koleva in a fight for the vacant world lightweight titles in the versions of WIBA and WBU. The fight lasted all 10 rounds. The judges unanimously gave the victory to Sharipova[21][22].

On December 30, 2017, Firuza faced the Belgian Jemilla Gontaryuk in a fight for the vacant title of world champion in the 2nd featherweight according to the version of IBO. Also at stake was the vacant WBC Silver title at the same weight. The fight lasted all 10 rounds. Sharipova won by unanimous decision[24][25][26].

Firuza's parents are Sevara and Fakhritdin Sharipov[27]. The family has five children, Firuza is the second oldest.

In June 2015, she married Kazakhstani boxer Denis Rybak[28]. Divorced since 2017[29].
