Hello, I am Mandy, a student at Rice University. While I initially got onto Wikipedia as a part of the ongoing class Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities, I think that this will be an interesting platform to use into the future. Aside from that, I am studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, pursuing the idea of going to grad school to get my PhD. After having worked in a research lab for two semesters now, I am starting the data analysis proportion of my work, with the eventual goal of writing a publication. Both of my areas (EBIO and PJHC) of interest will hopefully intersect in some of the potential topics that I am interested in. I think this area may be Neglected Tropical Diseases.
In Spring 2017, I am continuing my usage of the Wikipedia platform through the Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities Department. I am currently taking the second half of the course that I took last semester. While I really enjoyed working on Neglected Tropical Diseases, I am hoping to pick a topic that I know less about this time around.
I am going to be creating the article Women in Comedy, parent article Comedy. The draft has been created, and some work has already been posted in my Sandbox.
Lastly, I am the General Manager of Rice Coffeehouse. Realistically, I spend at least 70% of my time there.
