Nicki Minaj – "Chi-Raq" (feat. Lil Herb) on SoundCloud

"Chi-Raq", alternatively spelled "Chiraq",[1] is a song recorded by American rapper and singer Nicki Minaj featuring guest vocals from fellow American rapper Lil Herb (known now as G Herbo). It was released on April 8, 2014 for online streaming. It was produced by Boi-1da, Allen Ritter and Vinylz. It samples "Kill Shit" by G Herbo featuring Lil Bibby, and "Get Smoked" by Lil Mouse.[2][3][4]

Background

edit

The term "Chi-Raq" is a portmanteau of "Chicago" and "Iraq", as well as an endonym commonly used by some Chicago residents to liken the area to a war zone due to its extremely-high crime rates.

Music video

I put out a record called "Chi-Raq" a few weeks ago and let's just say it has inspired a lot of remixes. I lost count. LOL. I think Ima shoot a video just for […] it though. Because everyone's done a video except for me and G-Herbo! Like wtf!? S/O the remixes though.
